Kenny Pickett was supposed to be the face of the Steelers’ franchise when he was drafted in the opening round of the 2022 NFL Draft but after two full seasons of less-than-inspiring play, the end came quickly and he was shipped to Philly for a bag of balls and a pair of cleats.
His debut in the City of Brotherly Love was decent enough, as he went 14-of-22 for 89 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
Patriots Profile
The Patriots came out ahead of the Panthers, 17-3, last week and the game went pretty much according to plan, aside from the fact that Bailey Zappe got far more reps than anyone believed.
Last year’s part-time starter is likely being shopped by the Patriots and his performance against Carolina, 12-of-20 for 108 yards and no touchdowns or picks, did little to help or hinder the perception many have of him as being a serviceable backup.
The Pick
We will likely see much more of the Pats’ No. 3 overall pick, Drake Maye, this time around and that’s a good thing as long as he has the starting offensive line in front of him.
Sixth-round pick, Joe Milton, stole the show last week and we will also see more reps out of him. I like the quarterback matchups here as Eagles starting QB, Jalen Hurts, will see little if any action.
