The Giants came away with a 14-3 victory over the Lions with running back Eric Gray getting two rushing TDs. Big Blue backup, Tommy “How Youze Doin” DeVito got most of the reps under center last week after second-string QB, Drew Lock, suffered a hip injury that will see him out of commission for the next few weeks.
Therefore, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see starter Daniel Jones get a little action but DeVito will likely be in for much of the way even if the Giants do sign another passer off the street.
Texans Profile
After being held out of the Hall of Fame game, C.J. Stroud made an appearance and completed 2-of-4 passes for 41 yards including a nifty 31-yard strike to Tank Dell to draw first blood in what would result in a 20-12 win over the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
Backup Davis Mills saw most of the action under center and went 8-of-13 for 89 yards.
The Pick
This will be the Texans’ third exhibition game due to their Hall of Fame game appearance against the Bears which means we may see more of Stroud than most other starting quarterbacks this week.
That bodes well for a bet on the Texans after they looked much sharper last week in their win over the Steelers. Let’s ride this train and hope Stroud will play a quarter or more.
