A 41-yard strike down the sideline to wideout Chris Blair was the highlight of the evening for Atlanta’s eighth overall pick out of Washington, Michael Penix Jr., in the Falcons 20-13 loss to the Dolphins last week.
Neither Penix, Nathan Rourke, nor Taylor Heinicke threw any touchdown passes but Penix put the Falcons in scoring position for a 39-yard field goal and a one-yard rushing touchdown by Carlos Washington Jr.
Ravens Profile
If it was offense you were expecting from the Ravens’ second and third-stringers then you were not a happy camper last week in their 16-13 loss to the Eagles.
Devin Leary, Baltimore’s sixth-round pick out of Kentucky and No. 3 on their quarterback depth chart, provided the only touchdown with a one-yard plunge into the end zone and was 6-of-10 for 37 yards.
The Pick
I doubt we will see one of the most electrifying quarterbacks in the business, Lamar Jackson, or one of the most seasoned, Kirk Cousins, take the field in this one.
If so, they won’t be in for very long so we must assume that the backups will play again. The best one of the bunch on either side is Michael Penix Jr. and if he can build on what he did last week, I like Atlanta’s chances here.
