MLB Pick: Rockies ML (+105) at Bookmaker (visit our Bookmaker Review)
We have a loaded 15-game card of Major League Baseball betting matchups for Tuesday. As usual, we are here with three best bets from top sportsbooks for today’s slate that we feel currently hold nice value.
These best bets and current MLB odds are based mostly on our proprietary model. Our model points to a side in the Centennial State Tuesday with the Cardinals visiting the Rockies.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies
Tuesday, September 24, 2024 – 08:40 PM ET at Coors Field
In a game with no playoff implications between two also-rans, we are backing the value with Ryan Feltner and the Rockies as home underdogs hosting Michael McGreevy and the Cardinals.
Not Bad for Altitude
Ryan Feltner may be just 3-10, but his metrics are not too bad for a Colorado pitcher as his 4.20 xFIP is quite respectable relative to his 4.73 ERA. While he is not overpowering, his fastball is still a decent 94.6 MPH. But he does also have a 94.2 MPH sinker as well as three pitches rated well above average on Stuff+ in his slider (117), curveball (108), and change-up (118).
That mix has resulted in a good 44.7% groundball rate, which is the best way to counter the altitude of Coors Field. Furthermore, he is 2-0 over his last three starts following a 1-10 start, allowing two runs or less in all three outings. This includes allowing just one run and five hits in 6.2 innings while earning his third win last time out.
Mediocre in AAA
Michael McGreevy has pitched 10 innings at the Major League level this season, going 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA and 2.83 xFIP. No, we do not expect that to continue for a guy that has spent more time in the minor leagues than expected after being drafted by the Cardinals in the first round of the 2021 draft.
The hope was that Michael would be called up last season, but he simply underwhelmed at the AAA level posting a 4.49 ERA and 4.37 xFIP with a moderate strikeout rate of 7.17/9. And while he improved a tad this year, his AAA numbers were still not what is expected from a first-round pick, as he went 9-8 with a 4.02 ERA and 4.17 xFIP in 27 starts. He was called up to start here mainly because Lance Lynn and Sonny Gray were both placed on the injured list.
The Pick
We do not think the slow-developing McGreevy is well equipped yet to pitch in Colorado, and with Feltner showing positive regression as of late, we are betting on the Rockies as small home dogs.
Predicted Score: Rockies 7 – Cardinals 5
