UFC Vegas 57 was in fact a very exciting card with many rising contenders showing their worth. Out of all the bouts on the entire card, half of them were finished inside the distance. For this week, let’s highlight a contender that was ready to show his worth on Saturday night.

Buys vs. Durden Odds Recap
Entering Saturday night, JP Buys was the slight favorite with UFC odds at -115 and Durden priced at -105 at your top-rated sportsbooks.
In my UFC Best Bets piece for this matchup, I thought the odds were quite fair. But I also saw a pattern in Buys whenever he fought in the flyweight weight class – he was rarely successful.
Buys vs. Durden Fight Recap
Buys with a high head kick to open the round. They exchanged left and right hands; Buys dipped for a takedown but Durden landed a nice uppercut and hook to the face of Buys. He hurt him!
Durden hops onto the side of Buys as he covers his head. Give some time, Buys tries to push himself up with his arms but Durden continued with his ground and pound pressure until Referee Mark Smith stopped the fight.
Cody Durden defeated JP Buys by T/KO (punches) at 1:08 in the first round.
