If you’re a fan of NBA player props, the offshore sportsbooks are where you’ll find the widest variety of props for you to bet.

It still depends on where you shop, but as a general rule, you’ll find more statistical categories and more players when you bet offshore. You’ll also have less chance of getting your action capped, if you’re the kind of person who likes to bet more than $100 or so on each of these bad boys. Let’s see what’s on Tuesday’s menu here at Bookmakers Review.

Rockets’ Alperen Sengun (Over 1.5 Steals +162)

San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets – 8:00 PM ET

We meet again, Mr. Sengun (1.5 steals per game). The big Turk is a regular fixture here at the ranch, still dripping with betting value despite making his All-Star debut last year; having Kevin Durant parachute in as his new teammate has something to do with it. Durant may be the better offensive player of the two, but Alperen Sengun leads the Rockets (25-15 SU, 19-21 ATS) at plus-5.1 Box Plus/Minus according to Basketball Reference, ahead of Durant’s plus-4.3 BPM.

Chalk it up to Sengun’s crafty defense. He’s very good at reading plays and disrupting passing lanes with his quick hands, or just stripping opponents of the ball when they drive carelessly. Maybe one day we can start betting on deflections – Sports Illustrated has Sengun ranked sixth in the NBA at 2.4 per game.

We’re getting a good price on Sengun even though it’s San Antonio (30-13 SU, 23-19-1 ATS) providing the opposition. Or maybe it’s because of the Spurs; they have the better overall record, but Houston has outperformed them by Simple Rating System (SRS), plus-5.79 to plus-5.45. Make it point differential per 100 possessions, and the Rockets still come out ahead, plus-6.6 to plus-5.1. We’ll just have to live with San Antonio ranking seventh overall in fewest steals surrendered (7.8 per game).

Rockets’ Amen Thompson (Over 5.5 Assists +128)

San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets – 8:00 PM ET

Sure, let’s load up on more Rockets while we’re at it. That’s where the ATS value is for Tuesday’s matchup, after Houston moved from -5.5 at the open to -3.5 at press time, and Amen Thompson (5.1 assists per game) might be even more undervalued than Sengun after playing at an All-Star level last year during his sophomore campaign.

Making the move from small forward to point guard as Fred VanVleet recovers from his torn ACL has increased the level of difficulty Thompson faces on defense, but he’s hanging in there, and his offense remains efficient even while his Usage Rate has climbed from 17.5% to 20.8%. The Spurs are a bit more generous with assists than steals at No. 12 overall (26.2 per game); we’ll say Amen to that for a small sum.

Lakers’ Rui Hachimura (Over 6.5 Points -125)

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets – 10:00 PM ET

A message to you, Rui: We need you to score at least seven points this Tuesday. It’s a modest target for someone who’s posting 12.1 points per game, although that falls to 7.8 points off the bench, a role which Rui Hachimura has assumed in each of his four games since returning to active duty following a two-week injury layoff. We like his chances against a Denver team that had six players, including Nikola Jokic (knee), listed as out for Sunday’s game against Charlotte.

Bookmakers Review: The Sharp Way to Bet on the NBA

If we have to pick a favorite, it’s a close call between Sengun and Thompson for Tuesday’s NBA player props, but we’ll go with Sengun as the Euro big who’s still not getting the love he deserves from the American betting public. You can take advantage of this oversight with a sharp bet or two; the live NBA lines at Bookmakers Review will show you where the best price is for your chosen players, and the comprehensive reviews will show you which books deserve your action. Shop smart, bet accordingly, and may the sphere be with you.
