The Indiana Hoosiers will look to finish out a perfect season with a College Football Playoff National Championship matchup against the Miami Hurricanes.
Ultimately, Miami wasn’t even supposed to be in this spot. There was a time when many thought Miami wouldn’t even make the CFP over a team like Notre Dame or even BYU. But Miami has caught fire lately, reeling off multiple wins to get to this game.
On the other hand, Indiana has looked like the best team in the nation throughout the entire season. They’ve got a chance to finish off one of the best seasons in college football history tonight.
That said, without further ado, here’s a look at some of our college football parlays.
College Football National Championship Best Parlay (+605) at BetOnline
- Indiana -7.5
- Under 47.5 Points
- Carson Beck 175+ Passing Yards
Indiana has been the more consistent team this year, scoring more than 10 points per game while allowing about 3 fewer points per game. Miami has some really hard-hitting tacklers. But those guys have also missed countless tackles per game, according to PFF.
The Hurricanes have won by an average of 17.6 points in the ACC. Indiana has won by 31.53 points per game, playing in a much more difficult conference like the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have the Heisman winner and a head coach who wins. Just Google him.
That said, both defenses have been really strong lately. Miami allowed no more than 14 points in two of its last three games. Indiana hasn’t given up more than 22 points in either game this season. I’m not expecting a total defensive brawl. But asking for 48 points is a little much with these two highly rated defenses facing off.
That said, the assumption is that Indiana takes the lead early. That would mean Miami would be forced to throw the ball more in the second half. With more attempts, it’s likely Carson Beck will earn at least 175 passing yards. After all, Indiana’s pass rush is probably its weakest link on the defensive end.
College Football National Long Shot Parlay (+960) at BetOnline
- Kaelon Black Anytime Touchdown
- Mark Fletcher Jr. Anytime Touchdown
- Charlie Becker Anytime Touchdown
Kaelon Black has scored at least one touchdown in two consecutive games. He’s scored in 53% of games this season and has had long rushes that have reached at least 23 yards in three consecutive games. Black isn’t used in the passing game too much, but it’s possible he’ll get some reps in the passing game as well. Ultimately, he’s scored in six of his last 10 games and in both of Indiana’s CFP games.
Meanwhile, Miami’s Mark Fletcher didn’t score a touchdown in the Hurricanes’ win over Ole Miss. He still had a 19-yard long rush in that game and has added at least a 19-yard rush in all three CFP games this season. Like Black, he’s earned at least one touchdown in six of his last ten games. In addition, he’s earned a reception touchdown in two of his last ten games. He’ll be a factor in the passing game as well.
Lastly, let’s also add Charlie Becker to score a touchdown. The Indiana receiver has added at least a 30-yard reception in six of his last seven games. He’s also added a touchdown in each of Indiana’s first two CFP games. He’s become one of Fernando Mendoza’s favorite targets, especially around the redzone late in the season.
