In the UFC Vegas 56 main event between Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Drago once again showed how lethal his punches are.

Entering Saturday night, Volkov was eager to redeem himself after a submission defeat against Tom Aspinall back in 2022. Meanwhile, Rozenstruik also was searching for redemption himself. Back in September 2021, Rozenstruik suffered a unanimous decision loss against Curtis Blaydes.

Well, in this clash between titans, we saw who had the more granite chin and fists of steel. Read below for my recap of Alexander Volkov vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik

UFC Heavyweight Main Event Bout

Volkov vs. Rozenstruik Odds Recap

The more I looked into this bout, the more I chose to stay away and the UFC odds spoke for themselves. Alexander Volkov entered the octagon Saturday night as a -175 favorite and Rozenstruik a +150 underdog at BMR’s best sportsbooks and betting sites.

This was a tough bout to cap because both fighters had the ability to finish each other inside the distance; it was just a matter of who would get it done first.

A Dominating Opening Round

Round 1

The first round began with sharp leg kicks from Volkov. He fit in a few more combos before Rozenstruik countered ferociously to halt Volkov.

Rozenstruik returned a few leg kicks of his own, followed by a nasty left hand that connected. A potential fight ender right there, but Volkov kept his chin strong.

Volkov then rocked Rozenstruik with a heavy right hand; his mouthpiece flew out of his mouth! Volkov pursued to put an end to the fight, but referee Herb Dean put a stop to the fight. Alexander Volkov defeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik via T/KO (strikes) 2:12 minutes into Round 1.
