Casinos along the Boardwalk in Atlantic City are rehabbing and updating their properties despite external forces like iGaming and three future downstate New York casinos aligning against them. The Tropicana is the latest to do so by adding a new tower, Solana, which will be ready to greet the public early next year.

Solana Tower Project

The Tropicana is the latest Boardwalk casino to invest in its property with the introduction of the 604-room Solana Tower hotel, which is scheduled to open its doors in January 2026. A groundbreaking ceremony is slated for the day after Labor Day; therefore, the turnaround time on this project is rather ambitious.

The Solana Tower’s décor is inspired by the hotel’s Palm Walk, with tropical and coastal themes throughout the interior of the hotel. The addition of the tower is a concerted effort by the Tropicana to elevate its property and appeal to old and new customers alike

Tropicana Features Live Studio Online Gaming

Caesars Entertainment owns the Tropicana as well as Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. However, the Tropicana served as the central hub for Caesars’ latest venture into the realm of online gaming.

A studio was built within the Tropicana Atlantic City property with the express intent of featuring live dealers to those who visited one of Caesars’ New Jersey iGaming sites, like Caesars Palace Online Casino, Horseshoe Online Casino, and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino. The studio went live last month and integrates online and on-site play.

The online casino studio within the Tropicana features:

  • Five blackjack tables.
  • A high-roller table offering an authentic one-on-one live high-limit blackjack experience that was previously unavailable online.
  • A roulette table and a baccarat table.

Caesars’ partnership with Evolution Gaming, a Swedish gaming technology company that licenses B2B live casino software for online casino operators, has taken their online offerings to the next level. Caesars previously opened a live studio in Philadelphia for its online customers in Pennsylvania.
