 Unibet released first quarter results
Total turnover for the Swedish bookmaker was up 48% at £64.9m, of which £60.5m coming from sports betting, and total gross winnings grew 34% at £7m, mainly due to the success of the poker product launched in September 2004.

Gross winnings for sports betting showed a decrease due to a series of unfavourable soccer events.

"Volatility in the sports betting margin is a normal part of the business and will even out in the longer term," commented Pontus Lesse, CEO of Unibet.

On March the company launched a new mobile gambling platform with the aim to offer all of its products, except poker, on this platform by the end of the year.
