Tafon Nchukwi vs. Jamie Pickett

UFC Middleweight Bout

UFC in Vegas 17 takes place on Saturday, December the 19th, live from the UFC Apex Centre in Las Vegas

Jamie Pickett is another UFC debutant making his first walk to the octagon, 3rd time lucky for Pickett as it took him three attempts to claim a victory on 'Dana Whites Contender Series'.

Pickett is a huge middleweight, and it will be interesting to see how his weight cut fares. He has the size and power, but does he have the skill?

Fight Prediction

I said it last week, and I'll repeat it, contrary to what your wife tells you, size is not everything.

Jamie Pickett has found himself in a world of trouble matching up versus Nchukwi, a decorated kickboxer who has shown he can fend takedowns is a dangerous fighter, that's not including Nchukwi's natural god-given strength.

Nchukwi has the power to take Francis Ngannou's route, and it's no mistake that I'm mentioning the fellow Cameroonian. Nchukwi is like a smaller, more technical version of his peer.

Jose Aldo vs. Marlon Vera

UFC Featherweight Bout

UFC in Vegas 17 takes place on Saturday, December the 19th, live from the UFC Apex Centre in Las Vegas

Jose Aldo

Age: 34

Nationality: Brazil

Record: 28-7-0

Height: 5ft 7"

Reach: 70"

Gym: Nova Uniao

Notable Gym Members: Ketlen Viera, Alexandre Pantoja & Leonardo Santos

Current Streak: 3 losses

Wins by KO/TKO: 16

Wins by Submission: 2

Decision wins: 10

One of the greatest fighters to ever bless the octagon returns to avenge his 3-fight losing skid.

Yes, somehow the Featherweight king Jose Aldo is riding a 3-fight losing streak in 2020, and this does not sit right with me. His previous contest was an unfortunate TKO, in a fight versus the current champion where Aldo did not look bad at all. Some critics even scored the fight in favour of Aldo if it were to reach the scorecards. Same to be said with Aldo versus Moraes, a split decision favouring Aldo's opponent was not the result that everyone agreed with.

Marlon Vera

Age: 30

Nationality: Ecuador

Record: 16-6-1

Height: 5ft 8"

Reach: 70"

Gym: RVCASport

Notable Gym Members: Cris Cyborg, Mackenzie Dern & Jalin Turner

Current Streak: 1 win

Wins by KO/TKO: 6

Wins by Submission: 8

Decision wins: 2

Marlon Vera shot himself into top-ten talks with an impressive TKO over rising star Sean O'Malley. A vicious low kick caused the prospects ankle to buckle, leaving Vera with the opportunity to pound on his prey.

Vera is a diverse and well-skilled martial artist, but the level of competition has just got serious. His first high-profile contest will come against the former featherweight champion and one of the best muay thai strikers ever to grace the octagon.

Fight Prediction

I'm not aboard the Marlon Vera hype train, no matter how hard he derailed Sean O'Malley.

Still young in spirit and skill, I have faith in Jose Aldo's striking experience to outclass the challenger. If Vera were to find success, I believe he would do this on the ground. But, taking Aldo to the ground is not something that is easily accomplished.

In a fight where I believe Aldo will dictate where it takes place, I envision the former champion reminding his doubters exactly why he remained a UFC champion for four years plus.
