U.S. Open

The world’s finest tennis players are in New York, poised to battle it out for U.S. Open glory at the final Grand Slam of the year. Serena Williams has landed in a ferociously difficult quarter of the draw, alongside sister Venus, world number one Simona Halep and big hitters such as Garbine Muguruza and Karolina Pliskova, but she remains the 6/2 favourite with Bet365 to secure victory. She looks capable of returning to her best following a lengthy absence after giving birth to her daughter, and it will be fascinating to see how she gets on. Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic is favourite among the men, although third-favourite Roger Federer – who crashed out of Wimbledon at the hands of Kevin Anderson – looks really well priced to win it. Expect lots of upsets in the women’s tournament, offering plenty of value for punters.

Premier League

League leaders Liverpool travel to the King Power to lock horns with Leicester in the early game on Saturday and the Reds look a good Asian handicap option. Mohamed Salah remains in fine form and the odds on Liverpool winning the title keep dropping as they look a lot more solid defensively this season. Everton look well priced to beat a struggling Huddersfield side ay Goodison Park, while Man City should take Newcastle apart. West Ham have lost three on the bounce, so new manager Manuel Pellegrini will be desperate to pick up his first points when they host Wolves. Arsenal to beat Cardiff and Spurs to beat Watford both look like good options, and that might make a nice double on Sunday.

European Leagues

The big three Spanish clubs all look as though they should secure victory at the weekend: Real Madrid are 1/7 to beat Leganes, while Barcelona are just 1/12 to beat Huesca, but Atletico Madrid look well priced art 11/13 to pick up an away win at Celta Vigo. Sevilla might also tempt you at 6/4 to win the derby away at local rivals Real Betis. A big game on Friday sees AC Milan host Roma at the San Siro, while Cristiano Ronaldo will bid to get off the mark for Juventus when they travel to Parma. There is value in backing Bayern Munich on the handicaps away at Stuttgart, and RB Leipzig should fancy their chances of a strong home win against Fortuna Dusseldorf. Italian Grand Prix

The Monza showpiece is one of the greatest races of the year and Ferrari will be desperate to see star driver Sebastian Vettel win on home turf. However, he must contend with a rampant Lewis Hamilton, so you should expect fireworks in this one.

England v India

Virat Kohli’s men picked up an impressive victory in the third Test to pull the series back to 2-1, and they tie it if they win again in the fourth Test this week. However, Joe Root is encouraging his England team to remember that they have been the superior side during this series, and they look an interesting bet at even money with the likes of Bet365, William Hill and Paddy Power to win this one. Yet more money is going on India, who are best priced at 9/5 with the Betfair.
