Given that in the UK there still remains considerable uncertainty surrounding the precise operational requirements of the 2005 Gambling Act that will come into force in September 2007, and considering the limited time remaining to adopt the eventual requirements, Sportingbet has concluded that its most prudent course of action is to transfer its betting activities to the Channel Islands, where the group already holds a license granted by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.
