South Africa will attempt to pick up their first win of the tournament when they take on the West Indies at the Rose Bowl on Monday. Faf du Plessis’ men have slumped to three straight defeats and they will need a drastic improvement if they are to topple the in-form Windies. They are 5/6 with William Hill to get off the mark in this match. Sri Lanka face Bangladesh on Tuesday and Bangladesh are heavily backed at 4/6 to win it. Australia are expected to overwhelm Pakistan on Wednesday and then there is a huge game between India and New Zealand. Kane Williamson’s side have won all three games so far and sit top of the table. But India also have a 100% record and they will feel like they have the superior team, so it will be fascinating to see how that unfolds. England play the Windies on Friday and they are just 4/11 to win it, as they should benefit from favourable conditions and home support.
The world’s finest golfers will descend upon the legendary Pebble Beach course in California to contest the US Open from Thursday to Sunday. World number one Brooks Koepka is aiming to win this tournament for the third year running and he is the 7/1 favourite with Bet365. He carries a lot of momentum into the US Open after winning last month’s PGA Championship, his fourth major in two years. Yet 8/1 shot Dustin Johnson has a superb record at Pebble Beach and a rejuvenated Tiger Woods once won the US Open by a record margin here, so competition will be ferocious. Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele are longer shots to keep an eye on, while Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari lead the European charge.
There are a number of internationals to look forward to on Monday and Tuesday as Europe’s finest teams battle for a place at next summer’s tournament. Spain battered the Faroe Islands last time out to maintain their grip on their group, while Sweden beat Malta 3-0 to remain second. They now meet in Madrid and it should be an entertaining game, but Spain are the better team and should triumph. Spain to win and over 2.5 goals looks interesting at 11/10 with Boyle Sports. Italy play Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday and they should be able to secure victory in that one. They produced a fantastic performance to beat Greece 3-0 on the road at the weekend, while Bosnia slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Finland. They are 3/5 with Ladbrokes to win it.
The best teams in South America will be in action this summer and it gets underway when Brazil face Bolivia at the weekend. Neymar is out of the tournament with an injury and the Brazilians will have to put their faith in Premier League trio Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison to get the goals they need. The likes of Dani Alves, Thiago Silva and Casemiro provide experience, while Philippe Coutinho has the quality to unlock defences, and they should be able to vanquish Bolivia. Argentina begin their campaign against Colombia and both teams to score looks good at even money with William Hill, as there will be some exciting attacking talent on the pitch.
