Champions League

Man City travel to Germany in a bid to get their Champions League back on track against Hoffenheim on Tuesday night. The Premiership champions suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Lyon in their opening game, and they desperately need points to reignite their challenge. Hoffenheim lost at home to RB Leipzig at the weekend, while Man City picked up a third straight win, so Pep Guardiola’s men should be able to go on and win this one. Man City and under 4.5 goals looks interesting at 19/20 with Ladbrokes and Coral. Man Utd will hope to arrest a run of two straight defeats when they host Valencia at Old Trafford, and they are 4/6 to win. The 8/13 that Betfair and Betway are offering on Real Madrid winning away at CSKA Moscow looks good for an accumulator. Liverpool travel to Napoli on Wednesday and they are 23/20 with Marathon Bet to win it. Napoli lost 3-1 to Juventus at the weekend and Liverpool could capitalise on their dented confidence. The biggest game see Tottenham host a Barcelona team that have gone three games without a win, and you can find a massive 13/5 at Betfair on Mauricio Pochettino’s men securing victory.

Europa League

The biggest Europa League game sees Arsenal head to Azerbaijan to lock horns with Qarabag. Atletico Madrid failed to beat Qarabag in two games last season, but they have since looked underwhelming. Arsenal have now won seven games in a row and if they do not rest too many key players they should take all three points back to London with them. Ladbrokes are various others are offering 5/4 on Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals, which looks interesting. Elsewhere the 10/11 available at Bet365 and various others on in-form RB Leipzig to win away at Rosenborg in Norway looks tempting.

Japanese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has won three races in a row to tighten his grip on the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship and he is 4/5 with Bet365, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Coral to win the Japanese Grand Prix at the weekend. He clinched a famous victory here last year, and he has won it in three of the past four, so that looks like a good bet. Ferrari is floundering and Hamilton’s teammate, Valtteri Bottas, has been following team orders to allow the Brit to pass him.

International Rugby

Australia are out of sorts on the rugby union pitch, but odds of 21/20 at Bet365 on them going to Argentina and securing victory look really enticing. Argentina are not exactly a powerhouse on the rugby stage, and Australia have the individual quality to go there and win on Saturday. The All-Blacks are heavy favourites to win away at South Africa on the same day, and you need to give them a -12 handicap to get any value (10/11 with Bet365).

ATP Beijing

Budding superstar Alexander Zverev is the biggest name playing in China this week and he is the 7/2 joint favourite along with Juan Martin Del Potro to win it. But the likes of Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric look dangerous, and there will be some intriguing matches taking place in Beijing this week.

Weekend Football

The biggest game of the Premiership season takes place on Sunday as Liverpool host Man City at Anfield. Both teams are unbeaten, they are joint top of the league, and the bookmakers see it as a two-horsed race. Whoever wins this game will gain a serious advantage in the title race and the bookies make Liverpool the favourites. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals looks really attractive at 17/20 with Marathon Bet. In Italy, Inter look good at 7/10 to win away at Spal, which could make a nice treble with Juventus winning away at Udinese and AC Milan beating Chievo at the San Siro.
