Following six weeks of Premier League action, nobody would’ve guessed Brighton would be joining Manchester City and Liverpool in top 3 table positions, but here we are, and matchday 7 is right around the corner.

We’ve studied the EPL betting markets to formulate the best betting picks for this weekend’s fixtures involving Newcastle United vs. Burnley, Tottenham vs. Liverpool, and more.

Continue reading for this weekend’s top soccer betting picks from across the Premier League fixtures set to take place on September 30.

Newcastle United FC vs. Burnley FC

  • When: Saturday, September 30 - 10:00 AM EDT
  • Where: St James' Park
  • Win/Loss Record (Last 5): Newcastle W/W/D/W/L – Burnley W/L/D/L/W

Newcastle vs. Burnley Stats, Odds, & Prediction

  • Newcastle has the joint second-best attacking record (16 goals) in the EPL
  • Burnley has lost 4 of their 5 Premier League outings this term
  • Burnley has the second-worst defensive record in the EPL this season

Momentum Swings for the Magpies

For a team that owned the best defensive record of the 2022/23 EPL term, conceding 7 goals in their first four meetings of the new season was unexpected, to say the least. Eddie Howe’s men also endured three defeats in four of those clashes, as the Toon Army started to look more like the goon army.

However, what a difference a month can make. September has shone a new confidence into Newcastle, as they’ve now won 3 of their 5 games this month, including an 8-0 thriller against Sheffield and a 1-0 EFL Cup success over the formidable Manchester City.

Despite their early season woes, Newcastle have regained their confidence and even held AC Milan to a stalemate at the San Siro. And to the credit of Howe’s squad, the aforementioned domestic losses were against the current top three of the table – Brighton, Liverpool, and Man City.

An Early Relegation Battle in Burnley

In stark contrast, Burnley’s return to the top flight has kept the same trajectory throughout all six matchdays. They’ve lost 90% of their EPL clashes thus far, and although a 4-0 midweek EFL Cup success is on the record, overcoming a League Two side in Salford City isn’t exactly a celebratory moment.

More concerningly, Burnley’s four EPL losses this term saw them concede 12 goals. Their advancement to the fourth round of the EFL Cup is nothing more than a consolation for the horrific start to this year’s domestic schedule, collecting a mere 1 point from a possible 18, with only Sheffield United holding a worse record in the entire league.

EPL Matchday 7 Betting Odds & Predictions

Unsurprisingly, the odds available at the top betting sites have placed a juiced moneyline price on the home team. And with the reinvigorated defensive guile of last term, alongside an emphatic display in the final third of late, it’s difficult to argue a case for their opponents and the odds provided.

The Clarets have displayed resiliency on the road of late, but it won’t be enough to prevent a free-flowing Magpies side that has netted 8 goals from four home fixtures across all competitions.

Avoid the juice and back Newcastle on the point spread, as a two or three-goal deficit for the visitors can be expected.

Score Prediction: Newcastle 3 – Burnley 0

Tottenham Hotspur FC vs. Liverpool FC

  • When: Saturday, September 30 - 12:30 PM EDT
  • Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
  • Win/Loss Record (Last 5): Spurs D/W/W/D/W – Liverpool W/W/W/W/W

Spurs vs. Liverpool Stats, Odds, & Prediction

  • Liverpool has netted over 1.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 meetings with Tottenham
  • Tottenham has conceded at least 1 goal in four consecutive games
  • Liverpool has scored 1.5 goals or more in seven consecutive games

Five Goals in the Last Three

Ange Postecoglou has excelled on the Tottenham sidelines, and his managerial role has even joined the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola as one of three EPL coaches in history to see their squad score twice in their initial six games in charge.

However, although positive results have been continuous for the North London side, Arsenal has been the only stern test of the season, and the Lilywhites still managed to concede five goals in their last three games alone.

Undefeated Streak on the Line

The idealistic team to capitalize on a rocky Spurs defense would be Liverpool. And as it happens, they’ll take the trip to the capital this weekend not only with a 7-game win streak in all competitions, but also with a goal-scoring record that consists of netting three goals in five straight games and scoring at least two goals in all seven of those successes.

Jurgen Klopp and company travel to Tottenham this weekend behind a 19-game unbeaten streak. Furthermore, they haven’t suffered a defeat to Spurs since October 2017 – steering 12 fixtures since this date without a loss.

EPL Matchday 7 Betting Odds & Predictions

The EPL betting odds on the moneyline are too risky this week; both squads are in form, and their goal-scoring abilities are on fire – netting 15 a piece in the EPL this term.

For this reason, backing Liverpool to score over 1.5 goals is a wave we can continue riding with confidence. In conjunction with Tottenham’s out-of-place defense, Liverpool hasn’t faltered to achieve at least two goals in a 90-minute game since their season-opener with Chelsea in August.

Score Prediction: Spurs 1 – Liverpool 2
