A Battle at the Summit

A Miserable Beginning
The international break couldn’t have come at a better time for Newcastle United, a team that’s lost 3 of their 4 domestic meetings this season and have looked a shell of their former selves compared to last year’s success.
The Magpies defied all expectations during the 2022/23 season and finished in fourth position. Still, as they prepare for their first Champions League campaign since 2002, domestic results for Eddie Howe’s men have resulted in misery.
With that said, visits to Manchester City and Brighton alongside a home meeting with a refreshed Liverpool hasn’t been a kind schedule, and they did lose all of those fixtures by a mere 1-goal deficit.
