Los Angeles gained a little revenge from last year’s NLDS sweep at the hands of Arizona by taking Monday’s matchup 8-4. Now 6-1 on their current road trip, the Dodgers turn to rookie Landon Knack (1-1, 3.27) in Game 2 while the Diamondbacks send Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 2.77) to the desert bump.
D-Backs’ Carroll Still Battling Early Slump
This will be just the third start of Knack’s career, with the Dodgers splitting the first 2 at top sportsbooks and both coming against the Nationals. Montgomery, meanwhile, is making his third start this season after signing with the Diamondbacks late in the spring. He took a tough 1-0 loss to the Dodgers in LA last season while with the Cardinals.
Andy Pages has been a key bat in the L.A. lineup, pushing his hitting streak to 7 games with a double and driving in 3 runs on Monday. Arizona’s Corbin Carroll is still trying to bust out of his early doldrums and enters Tuesday batting just a buck-91.
Roof Should Be Open in Phoenix
The forecast calls for another clear evening in the mid-80s, meaning the roof at Chase Field should be open. We expect the Dodgers to continue their road trip with yet another dubya.
