Who won? Definitely not the players
While in South Africa, the soccer World Cup took center stage a month ago, in the online betting world, questionable bookmakers have played their own World Cup where central America and Caribbean sportsbook sites had to compete against their European counterparts.
Who won? Definitely not the players.
Following, in no particular order, the June-July 2010 complaints updates for US-facing sportsbooks:
BetHorizon players have reported 2 months (going for three) slow pays. While the Costa Rica-based bookmaker has apparently stopped offering bonuses for Moneybookers deposits, the banking issues cited as a reason for the slow pays do not really explain the long delays some players are experiencing.
Horizon Sports-BetHorizon (2) downgraded to the Red list for multiple slow pays.
From Costa Rica there also reports of slow payments from the DPT Sports bookmakers Jazz and ABC Island. All DPT Sports\’ sportsbooks (ABC Island, Jazz Sports and LooseLines) are downgraded to 2 (2.5) and added to the Orange list.
On US betting forums players have found proofs that usapriceperhead.com (NR) is a new bookmaker from the owners of scam sportsbook Bet911 as the domain registration revealed. Avoid USA Price per Head.
Red-listed Enterbet (1) have apparently moved their operation to the BetPhoenix platform. According to Sportsbook Review, BetPhoenix is not backing the GoTo Entertainment site, but just providing hosting as long as Enterbet players get paid first. Enterbet has been on Bookmakers Review\’s Red list from the beginning for multiple slow pays. In recent years Enterbet stolen content from our site and always ignored our requests to remove it, making up ridiculous stories about how our content ended up on their site. If they steal content, would you trust them with your personal information and payment details?
In Antigua, WSEX appears to have finally lost its license. The once popular bookmaker owes over a quarter million dollar to players on SBR alone, with some of them who have been waiting 4 months and more. WSEX also reduced its betting offering and its customer services.
WSEX downgraded to 1 (2).
A new online bookmaker, BetRevolution, made its debut on US betting forums and has immediately been found lying about its license in Antigua, where the Directorate of Offshore Gaming said BetRevolution never had a license nor they ever applied for one. A representative of the online bookmaker downplayed the fact, seemingly thinking that publishing a false license number on the site is not a major deal. BetRevolution newly rated at 2 and added to the Orange list for false license claims.
Back in Europe:
Customers of Globet report that Moneybookers payments take 2-3 weeks and that the Italian-owned, Gibraltar-licensed, London-based bookmaker ignores players\’ requests for as long as they can. Globet downgraded to 2 (2.5) and added to the Orange list for slow pay.
The management of Orange-listed 10Bet (2) recently contacted Bookmakers Review to inform us that they had worked very hard to eliminate all problems and they haven\’t received a single complaint for over 8 months. They also said they believed that if we spoke to players today we would receive very positive feedback.
But when we offered to post a message on the BMR homepage asking players for feedback to guarantee that all outstanding complaints have been resolved, 10Bet didn\’t follow up.
In their original request, 10Bet stated that it was time to judge them by the flawless job they\’ve been doing for almost a year and the huge progress they\’ve made.
10Bet has been the subject of players complaints for a number of years, so having done a flawless job (all to verify) for 8 months is not enough, considering that in the past the Israeli-owned bookmaker always refused to even look at the complaints when we contacted them.
And the fact they didn\’t reply to our offer to ask players for feedback really speaks for itself.
If you have had any recent experience with 10Bet, we would like to hear it: feedback at bookmakersreview.com
Meanwhile in Malta, Red-listed BetKlass (2) launched a new site europk.com (NR), while Stryyke (S) is offering bonuses for all kind of sporting events and casino, probably their last effort at raising money from players before disappearing for good. Stay away from Stryyke.
And amongst the online bookmakers that operate from the Caribbean and Central America targeting Europe, players complained about:
Costa Rica-based CasiNeto.net, for which we received new slow pay reports, one of them from a customer that has been waiting 6 months. CasiNeto downgraded to 1 (2).
Customers of Bet770, apparently operating from Curacao, but very active on the French market, report 2-3 weeks slow pays, while bonus offers seem to be increasing. Bet770 downgraded to 2 (2.5-) and added to the Orange list. Considering that French regulator ARJEL clearly said they will go after unlicensed operators, Bet770 is probably one to avoid for the time being.
BetOnline247 (NR) seems to be using a recipe (Moneybookers and opinionated odds) that recently characterized a number of scam bookmakers. The site is owned by a company called Golden Star Gaming that claims to have more than half a million players on its web site built using a free template of a free to use website creation software. Definitely one to avoid for the time being.
