Last evening was something in baseball, primarily highlighted by the New York Mets collapse (again). We cover three compelling stories. Congrats to the women’s Oklahoma Sooners softball team who completed an epic season.

About Last Night…
NHL
Once again, Florida was being outplayed by Vegas and was down 2-1 when they pulled goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, who had played a game more reminiscent of how he had performed in the postseason. The extra attacker did the trick as the Panthers swarmed the Golden Knights goal and Matthew Tkachuk tied the game with 2:13 left in regulation.In OT, Florida did what they do best and won for a seventh straight time in these playoffs, extending the streak to 10 overall. For Florida to stay in this series, they will have to win Saturday. They are currently at -115 to do so.
MLB
The New York Mets were swept at Atlanta, dropping their record to 30-33. Besides that disappointment, the Mets had a lead of at least three runs in each game and failed to secure any victories. The strength of New York’s team was supposed to be its highly-paid starting pitching, and at this moment they are 25th in ERA at close to 5.00.Tampa Bay beating Minnesota 4-2 was not a surprise, but holy crap, that makes the Rays 29-6 at home. They are up +21 units in St. Pete’s, and Texas has the 2nd-best betting number at home at a mere +9.7 units.
If you wonder why the Yankees are inconsistent, here is your answer. At the start of last week, New York scored 10 runs in three straight games vs. the Padres and Mariners. In the three previous contests, they tallied five runs (1-2 record) and since, in seven tries they have averaged 3.4 RPG (3-4).
Women's College World Series
Oklahoma won their third consecutive College World Series by beating Florida State for their 53rd straight victory this season. This is the greatest team of all-time given how much better athletes there are now in the sport. A privilege to watch greatness.

Most students would not know these two are “rivals” and you could win a lot of bar bets knowing the Boilers and Illini play for the Purdue Cannon.
