A typical Pete Dye design with many risk-reward holes where strategy is important although the fairways are wider than many of his other tracks that we have seen used recently such as Harbour Town Golf Links last week and the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

Zurich Classic Format
The team format of a fourball round 1, a foursome round 2 that takes in 80 pairs trying to make the cut which is set at the top 35 and ties. Post-cut, the format is the same with four balls on Saturday and foursomes on Sunday. Fourballs is where each player plays their own ball, and the best team score counts while foursome format is alternate tee shots so one player tees off on all the odd-numbered holes while the other tees off on all the even numbers and alternate shots after.
Will Fate Be Kind to Horschel & Alexander?
Billy Horschel and Tyson Alexander come to the Zurich Classic in great personal form on the PGA Tour with the better-known Horschel winning last week’s Corales Puntacana Open. The question is, has fate been kind in putting them together as a pair for this week’s event after Horschel’s regular partner, Sam Burns has opted to stay at home with his heavily pregnant wife, Caroline?
The life event opened the door for Tyson Alexander to partner with Horschel this week. Interestingly, Horschel is a course and event specialist having won this event on two occasions, when it was a singles event in 2013 and in 2018 as Scott Piercy’s partner.
When analyzing Tyson Alexander, not only is he in good current form but he also has a strong personal connection with Horschel, as his father was Horschel’s college golf coach.

What About Straka & Garnett?
I am sure not many betting cards will have Sepp Straka and Brice Garnett on them this week but they both looked in superb form at last week's RBC Heritage with top 20 finishes and the Austrian Straka went out in the final group on Sunday with Scottie Scheffler.
Garnett won the Puerto Rico Open a month ago to reclaim his PGA playing privileges and now partner’s Straka who was a revelation at last year's Ryder Cup for Europe.
This week is one to keep stakes modest, but Garnett has some interesting course form here at TPC Louisiana in this event with 4th in 2018 and 11th in 2021 to show a liking for the format and the track.
