Will It Be a Wyndham Clark Double?
It could well be Wyndham Clark at the double this week in the Arizona Desert.
The weather-affected and shortened Pebble Beach Pro-Am last weekend, spanning 54 holes, seems to have had minimal impact on the thirty-year-old from Denver, Colorado.
Saturday’s third round of 60 at Pebble Beach was a breathtaking round of golf and deserving of victory in any golf tournament. Indeed, Clark played so well, that he missed three putts at the end of the round. Otherwise, he would have broken the hallowed 60-barrier rather easily.
Not having to play a fourth round in the forecast horrific winds will only help Clark maintain his mojo and be fresh for the task at hand this week. A 10th-place finish here last year was Clark’s best effort in the Phoenix Open. However, he caught the attention previously in 2020, when he was first-round leader after a round of 61.
We are taking Wyndham Clark to double up at this week’s Phoenix Open, an event he has threatened to dominate in the past.

Can Scottie Scheffler Win a Hat-Trick of Successive Phoenix Opens?
Scottie Sheffler, the original party pooper, aims for a rare hat-trick at the Phoenix Open, seeking to secure victories in successive years, an unprecedented achievement in the history of the PGA Tour and particularly at this event.
Multiple champions have often been a trend at TPC Scottsdale with Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson, and Mark Calcavecchia all three-time winners of the event.
Will Scottie Scheffler Join Them?
I think it is fair to say that Scheffler is not quite in the form he has been in previous seasons.
The second half of 2023 saw his brilliant ball-striking stats completely undermined by his poor putting. Yes, these greens could evoke the change needed for the twenty-seven-year-old from New Jersey, and last week’s effort at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am promised better days ahead.
That said, it is possible his confidence has also been undermined in recent months, so we are not taking Scheffler and the unprecedented hat-trick for this week’s event.
Don’t Forget About Beau Hossler
Last week, we put up Beau Hossler for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and he performed with great credit finishing in 14th after the final round was abandoned.
This week at TPC Scottsdale, he once again brings solid credentials, backed by his impressive 14th-place finish last year—a strong showing. This marks his first Top-20 finish in the event since his debut in 2018.
This week, as the Phoenix Open lacks the signature status granted to last week’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am, his price has not shrunk pro-rata. Notably, securing the same odds as last week at (+5000) represents better value, considering the weaker field in play.
Remember, last week the Californian did not have the luxury of finishing the event and he could have easily placed higher if the opportunity had arisen.
We like the Top 20 price of (+250) as a strong props bet with a more modest stake on his outright price of (+5000).
