Yanez: The Story So Far
Adrian Yanez entered the UFC with a significant hype behind his name. For the most part, he lived up to this hype and dominated his first five bouts with four KO/TKO wins. Unfortunately, once he was matched with elite-level competition, he was completely outclassed, and while ‘fraud check’ is a strong word, he likely doesn’t have the diversity to become a mainstay within the top rankings of 135 pounds.

Salvador: The Story So Far
It’s been a meh beginning for Brazil’s Vinicius Salvador, who’s lost two consecutive bouts since joining the promotion in 2023 and ultimately hasn’t displayed a threatening skill set capable of compromising the opposition at this level.
Salvador has collected the majority of his pro career wins in the 125-pound weight class. Now, he’ll return to 135 lbs, where he’s had minor success, but it’s difficult to envision him finding long-term success.

With a 0-2 UFC record and a shift from 125 to 135 pounds, can we expect much from Salvador’s limited skill set? For a fighter who doesn’t shine in one area, he will struggle against specialists, and that’s precisely what Yanez brings to the table.
Yanez is a boxer… that’s his wheelhouse, and he’s pretty damn good at it. While this may also sound like a fighter boasting a limited skill set, he’s above average in this regard, and the likes of Salvador will be utterly overwhelmed if he cannot deliver an absolute grapple-fest for 15 straight minutes.
Yanez Moneyline Reasoning
All signs are pointing towards Yanez, returning to the win column. His losses to Rob Font and Jonathan Martinez hold no shame. Prior to that, he was dominating a competition level very similar to Salvador’s, and we can expect a similar scenario.
There aren’t many “locks” in Vegas this weekend, but if I’m to pinpoint one juiced moneyline that I believe has a great chance of cashing the first leg of our parlay, it would be Yanez, all day, every day!

Ducote: The Story So Far
A 2-2 promotional record has delivered an average start to Emily Ducote’s UFC career so far, but losses to Lupita Godinez and Angela Hill aren’t the worst L’s to have on your record.
Ducote stems from a background in wrestling and while she’s no Khabib, she is a fighter who’s commendable on the ground that can also hang on the feet with lower-level opponents.

Demopoulos: The Story So Far
Consistency has been a consistent problem for Vanessa Demopoulos throughout her professional MMA career. Now, at 35, what can we truly expect from an aging fighter who has a BJJ background but has landed just one submission win in six UFC bouts thus far?

UFC Vegas 92 Ducote vs. Demopoulos: Skillset Breakdown
Demopoulos has the jiu-jitsu offense, but when it comes to wrestling and dominating ground positions is where the problem lies. Everywhere else in her skillset shows some concerns, especially the ease at which past opponents have taken her down and a lack of striking defense on the feet.
Ducote’s skills are good in both striking and grappling realms. She’s serviceable in all areas, and we have yet to see her cardio and toughness falter. Just one of her pro career bouts ended in a stoppage loss, and it’s doubtful that Demopoulos’s BJJ “excellence” is going to shine this weekend.
Ducote by Decision Reasoning
We have two fighters, one who is average in all facets of the sport and one who is apparently a BJJ black belt but hasn’t transitioned her skills into the UFC very well.
I expect we’ll see a classic women’s strawweight bout where the better fighter, in this case, Ducote, will put up higher striking numbers, and while it might seem close due to Demopoulos’s reckless style on the feet, it won’t be a winning factor.
Furthermore, Ducote will also hold the wrestling advantage and Demopoulos might be happy to play in guard, but as we’ve seen in the past, BJJ practitioners accepting this position don’t farewell in the cage.
I will say that both ladies are durable, and that’s why the ridiculous ML price of Ducote seems much more playable when we add the decision factor.
