UFC on ABC 5 Hot Prospect Profile: Trevor Peek

  • Pro MMA Record: 8-0-0 (8 KO/TKOs)
  • UFC Record: 1-0 (1 KO/TKO)

With a professional mixed martial arts career that’s only existed since 2020, Trevor Peek is one of the greenest athletes on the UFC roster. Still, he owns one of the scariest abilities an octagon warrior can possess: one-punch KO power.

Life on the regional scene for Peek was identical. He stepped into the cage, finished all his opponents via KO or TKO, and then received his opportunity on Dana White’s Contender Series. And yes, you guessed it, with a UFC contract up for grabs, Peek continued his knockout streak and flatlined Malik Lewis to receive an invite on the big stage.

UFC debut? No problem for Peek! A 14-7 Erick Gonzalez couldn’t avoid the violence, as the aggressive punching style of Peek that cannot be taught in the gym reigned supreme yet again. Another round one knockout, Peek’s slowly putting his name in the spotlight, and should another knockout surface this weekend, the world will have to pay attention.

Peek vs. Mariscal: The Fight Tape

Peek’s power is almost comparable to Francis Ngannou, other than the fact he’s 155 lbs. Technical striking isn’t his strong point, he’s not looking for fancy spinning attacks or calculated punches at range, but if you dare step in the pocket, you’re going to sleep.

Opposite Peek this weekend will be Chepe Mariscal, who’ll certainly be the American’s toughest challenge to date. Mariscal (13-6-0) owns experience versus several UFC roster members and is notably on a 3-fight KO streak of his own.

However, it isn’t just the punching power of Peek favoring him; it’s the durability he’s displayed too. Defense isn’t Peek’s strongest suit, but a solid jaw has been tested countless times, and he’s barely blinked. This has allowed him to walk through the pocket and connect wild punches that constantly flatline the opposition.

UFC Vegas on ABC 5 Hot Prospect Best Bet

The available UFC odds at the top US sportsbooks show an excellent price for the lightweight division’s answer to Francis Ngannou, and I’m here for it.

He isn’t technical, he’ll surrender speed and experience advantage, but there’s one attribute that Mariscal cannot game plan for, the unruly knockout power Peek can deliver at any stage of the fight.
