The Ultimate Fighting Championship is back in Mexico for a fun-filled night of octagon wars with countryman Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega topping the bill. I’m here to supplement your UFC parlay betting needs.

Below, you’ll find two of my favorite picks from the UFC Mexico City fight card. Based on the UFC odds, I’ve concluded that these betting lines are worth coupling together for this weekend’s event. Continue reading to find the best MMA parlay value so you can cash at the top-rated online sportsbooks on Saturday night.

UFC Mexico City Information

  • Date & Time: Saturday, February 24, 2024 – 07:00 PM ET
  • Location: Arena CDMX, Mexico City
  • Scheduled Fights: 13
  • Main Event: Yair Rodriguez vs. Brian Ortega (UFC Featherweight Bout)

Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Ricky Turcios

UFC Mexico City Bantamweight Bout

Rosas Jr.: The Story So Far

Aged 19 with a 7-0 pro record at the time, there was a false hype around Raul Rosas Jr., which was instantly exposed when he entered the octagon with Christian Rodriguez last year. However, a TKO win in his return reinvigorated a deserving position on the roster, albeit one that shouldn’t make us rush to the betting window every time he competes.

Now, the youngest UFC fighter on the roster of Mexican descent returns to the motherland. It’s undeniable that the promotion would prefer him to leave the Arena CDMX with another dub.

  • Rosas Pro MMA Record: 8-1-0
  • Rosas Knockout Wins: 2
  • Rosas Submission Wins: 5

Turcios: The Story So Far

Ricky Turcios isn’t bad whatsoever, but he doesn’t present a serious threat either.

He boasts a small record of 15 pro bouts, has gone the distance in five consecutive bouts and barely snatched split decision wins to collect a 2-1 UFC record.

  • Turcios Pro MMA Record: 12-3-0
  • Turcios Knockout Wins: 3
  • Turcios Submission Wins: 1

UFC Mexico Rosas Jr. vs. Turcios: Skillset Breakdown

I’m not falling for the hype train around Rosas Jr., but we must understand the UFC’s desire to see their youngster succeed.

Matchmakers understand that styles make fights and Turcios is a great opponent to gift to Rosas.

Turcios is no slouch. However, we’ve watched him get taken down consecutively by less talented grapplers than Rosas. This is the dealbreaker for me. Most opponents that present Turcios with a takedown threat will likely find success when implementing this game plan.

Rosas Jr. Moneyline Reasoning

The only path to victory I envision for Turcios would be to own superior cardio across three rounds and take over the scorecards in late rounds two and three. However, every other threat, including top control, a TKO or submission finish and one dominant skill, all side with the up-and-coming teenager.

The odds favor Rosas, and rightfully so.

The takedowns will flow in Mexico City. We can anticipate a lopsided fight in favor of the relentless grappler.

Raoni Barcelos vs. Cristian Quinonez

UFC Mexico Bantamweight Bout

Barcelos: The Story So Far

Five fights into his UFC career that began in 2018, Raoni Barcelos held an unbeaten promotional record and shot through the bantamweight rankings. Unfortunately, a meeting with Timur Valiev triggered the downfall. Now, he’s 4 of his previous 5 bouts.

He’s a -195 favorite this weekend and many bettors will ask why.

It’s simple, actually: the Brazilian has been stumped versus a high level of competition and his recent opponents haven’t been close to his UFC Mexico opposition.

Barcelos Pro MMA Record: 17-5-0

Barcelos Knockout Wins: 8

Barcelos Submission Wins: 2

Quinonez: The Story So Far

Cristian Quinonez is arguably receiving a more difficult challenge than his previous bout against Kang Kyung-ho, which ended in a round one rear-naked choke defeat.

He did kickstart his UFC tenure with a TKO win over Khalid Taha. However, the holes in his game have been glaringly obvious.

  • Quinonez Pro MMA Record: 18-4-0
  • Quinonez Knockout Wins: 10
  • Quinonez Submission Wins: 3

UFC Mexico Barcelos vs. Quinonez: Skillset Breakdown

Could Barcelos be regressing at this stage of his career? Sure, but he’s fought the best guys in the division and Quinonez doesn’t fall into this category.

With a questionable chin, untrustworthy takedown defense, several moments where he’s given up ground control and back takes and a brutal beatdown en route to losing against Kang, it’s difficult to give the Quinonez the benefit of the doubt this weekend.

Barcelos Moneyline Reasoning

Barcelos owns a complete skillset, including a solid striking and wrestling game that wiped the floor with a lower level of competition before reaching the division’s upper echelon.

Is he the gatekeeper type? Perhaps, and this is precisely why I see value in him as a parlay piece.

Quinonez presents minimal threats outside of a fluke knockout.

The odds favor Barcelos, and although we’re backing him in our parlay, the -195 price shouldn’t be overlooked as a straight play also.

Skill-for-skill, the more talented fighter is obvious in this spot. Barcelos should easily sail back into the win column after faltering in two difficult fights.
