Win or lose, Kevin “Trailblazer” Holland is an entertainer, and while we can often get distracted by the colorful personality he’s brought to the UFC thus far, we mustn’t neglect the in-cage skills that have also contributed to him being a fan favorite.
Holland returns to the octagon at UFC 302 on Saturday riding a two-fight win streak but said bouts were competitive, and decision losses to Michael Page and Jack Della Madalena hold zero shame.

Oleksiejczuk: The Story So Far
Like his weekend opponent, Michal Oleksiejczuk has found success in the promotion, but consistency has been a major flaw. The 29-year-old Polish native has never won more than two straight bouts in 13 UFC appearances, and although he’s a knockout artist at heart, he seems to fail whenever the UFC matches him with top-ranked opposition.

The flaws preventing Holland from reaching the upper echelon of the welterweight or middleweight division are no secret. He’s struggled versus wrestlers and experienced opponents who can keep pace for all three rounds. Fortunately for him, Oleksiejczuk doesn’t fall into those categories.
The Polish knockout artist has won seven UFC bouts, and six of those contests ended via first-round knockout. The punching potential he owns is no joke, but a common theme is that he’s never succeeded versus a ranked opponent, while his cardio also seems to take a hit whenever the bouts exceed five minutes.
Under 2.5 Rounds Reasoning
Whether Oleksiejczuk’s early-onslaught game planning can make an impact early on or if Holland can capitalize on his opponent’s aggression, it’s difficult to envision this fight going to the judge’s scorecards.
I give Holland the edge in this bout strictly because he has multiple paths to victory. I could see Holland using his size advantage and stopping Oleksiejczuk via strikes or even jumping on submission at any point during the fight. The Pole’s path for a stoppage is a clear early KO/TKO, but either way, -190 on under 2.5 rounds is an absolute steal.

Lima: The Story So Far
Andre Lima, one of the latest additions to the UFC flyweight roster, made his debut earlier this year during a memorable contest in which his opponent, Igor da Silva, received a DQ for intentionally biting his fellow countryman.
Outside of this unforgettable debut, Lima has been technically sound in all areas, specifically as an offensive striker. He owns a well-deserved 8-0 record and an unblemished record, and aged just 25, he will certainly be one to watch if he can climb through the rankings.

Raposo: The Story So Far
Fans of Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter will be familiar with Mitch Raposo. While his services didn’t previously gift him a position on the roster, the UFC is now calling on him as a late replacement. Although he’s suffered setbacks as a professional, he’ll aim to continue a four-fight streak he’s built on the MMA regional scene over the past two years.

In the tape room, you’d believe Raposo owns a lot of potential, but for all of the impressive factors in his skill set – faints, movement, versatility – he doesn’t do enough whenever the cage door closes. Is he a striker, grappler, or wrestler? Who knows? But trusting him versus the UFC elite isn’t something we can do based on what we’ve seen thus far.
Andre Lima, on the other hand, is an aggressive fighter who will thrive facing an opponent like Raposo, who is consistently accepting of fighting off his back foot. The Brazilian has beautiful combinations and can pile on the pressure while also keeping the perfect distance.
Lima Moneyline Reasoning
Lima’s pinpoint striking offense, alongside his ability to mix up trips and throws, will undoubtedly make him a more well-rounded fighter. Raposo has the potential to avoid being finished, but sadly, that’ll be the best attribute he brings to this fight, and the conservative style he presents will be taken advantage of by a Brazilian determined to make us remember him for more than being bitten.
