The Memo for Pep Guardiola Hasn’t Changed

Entering last week’s EPL matchday 29 was a must-win situation for Manchester City, and with a challenging obstacle in Liverpool to overcome, Pep Guardiola and his squad didn’t surrender for a moment as they dismantled their title challengers of 2022 with a 4-1 scoreline.

Unfortunately, Arsenal didn’t drop the ball either. As a result, the eight-point gap at the EPL summit rolls over into week 30, and Guardiola hopes Liverpool can bounce back from his sides slaughtering against Arsenal and assist his team’s quest in bridging the gap at the top of the table.

The good news for the Citizens is that they’ve won their previous 7 games in all competitions. Although Southampton provided a shocking 2-0 win when these sides last met in the EFL Cup, there won’t be any squad rotation for the Saints to capitalize on this time around.

The Relegation Battle Continues

Southampton has few matchdays remaining to pull themselves from the bottom of the EPL. After 29 games, the Saints are rock bottom of the table and have lost 4 of their previous 7 games in all competitions.

With that said, it’s a mere four-point gap Southampton needs to pull themselves out of the relegation zone. Sadly, for Saints fans, Manchester City won’t be the squad they’ll begin their hunt for survival with.

EPL Matchday 30 Betting Odds & Predictions

The EPL betting odds have placed Man City as significant betting favorites, which is no surprise.

The Saints have found minor success against top-six sides of late, including drawn fixtures against Tottenham and Manchester United. However, after watching Southampton continuously fail to provide the goods against lower levels of opposition like West Ham and Brentford, the return of Erling Haaland to the city squad will only extend the EPL champion’s likelihood of a dominant win.

The reverse fixture ended 4-1, and a similar scoreline is probable this weekend. City has covered a -1.5 spread in 5 of their previous 7 games, and with 17 goals netted and one conceded during this stretch, another landslide victory for Guardiola’s men makes sense.

Score Prediction: Southampton 1 – Manchester City 5

Soccer Pick: Manchester City -1.5 (-124) at Heritage Sports [1.24u wager returns 1u of profit]

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Brighton Information

  • When: Saturday, Apr. 8 – 10:00 PM EDT
  • Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
  • Win/Loss Record (Last 5): Tottenham L/L/D/W/D – Brighton W/D/W/D/D

Tottenham vs. Brighton Stats, Odds, & Prediction

  • Tottenham has won 4 consecutive EPL home games.
  • Brighton has won just 1 of their previous 4 EPL away games.
  • Tottenham has conceded just 1 goal from their last 4 EPL home games.

The Bounce Back Spot for Spurs

Saturday’s meeting with Brighton will be Cristian Stellini’s second game steering the Spurs ship and the club’s first home game since Antonio Conte’s dismissal. While this could concern some, Spurs’ home form can potentially end Brighton’s impressive undefeated streak, and the odds are incredibly tempting.

Tottenham has won their previous four domestic home fixtures and has allowed just one goal during that run, including successes over Man City and Chelsea to nil. Home form has been Spurs’ most impressive statistic this term, while their weekend opponents have sometimes struggled on the road.

Positive Form Won’t Be Enough in London

Brighton enters the capital in fine form as one of four teams hoping to extend an eight-game undefeated streak, winning six and drawing two of those games. However, Albion has won just one of their previous EPL away trips, a glaring red flag for Roberto De Zerbi’s squad as they continue a battle for a European competition qualifying position in the table.

European aspirations will be on the minds of both teams and for this reason, we shouldn’t expect a plethora of goals. The reverse fixture ended in a 1-0 victory for Spurs, and as Brighton has consistently struggled to keep clean sheets on the road, another shutout seems possible.

EPL Matchday 30 Betting Odds & Predictions

The EPL betting odds have placed Tottenham with a valuable moneyline price of +163, a piece of value that we shouldn’t ignore.

Of course, Tottenham enters this fixture on a two-game losing streak versus an unbeaten team in eight straight games. However, the home form of Spurs has been solid all season long, Brighton struggles on the road, and this equals a perfect bounce-back spot for the home side.

Score Prediction: Tottenham 2 – Brighton 0

Soccer Pick: Tottenham ML (-156) at Bookmaker [1.56u wager returns 1u of profit]
