Will Shane Lowry Make Rome His Colosseum?
Yes, I think there is a good chance that Shane Lowry makes Rome his Colosseum this weekend and goes undefeated in the gladiatorial battles that encompass a Ryder Cup.
European Captain, Luke Donald had some very difficult decisions to make as regards who he picked for the wild cards and the backlash around reigning Italian Open champion, Adrian Meronk’s omission. However, I do believe Lowry’s name was at the top of Luke Donald’s list of six wild cards, and not as many golf fans think, the guy who kept Meronk on the sidelines.

A look at the table above shows Irishman, Shane Lowry with a record of 1-2-0 at the last Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits which was nothing special but for some reason, he was sparingly used by compatriot Padraig Harrington who was surprisingly poor and un-inspirational captain. The contest was a nightmare for Europe on many levels, but Lowry came out with respectability, while Jon Rahm, who went 3-1-1 came out with great credit.
Since Donald selected Lowry, he has put together two solid efforts at the Irish Open and BMW PGA Championship where his reliable tee-to-green game could be seen to great effect.
That sort of consistency makes Lowry a potentially superb partner in the foursomes contests, that format of golf which means players play alternate shots after teeing off on alternate holes and is the most pressurized type of golf in the Ryder Cup.
Similar sentiments and credentials apply to Tommy Fleetwood in the Top European market, but it is worth a modest investment at the sporting higher price of (+2200) at BetOnline for Shane Lowry to be Top European. If Lowry hits the ground running and wins his opening foursomes, the thirty-six-year-old Irishman could become a mainstay of the three days.

Will Brooks Koepka Be Caesar in Rome?
With the exception of three players, Max Homa, Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas, the United States team has been inactive since at least the 27th of August and that’s worrying for me as a punter in the overall contest.
However, when looking for the winner of Top American it could be a huge help in narrowing our field. Another factor to help us is that we know the PGA Tour added elevated events this season and several of their players publicly said they were looking forward to a break, post the Tour Championship in late August.
Unless you have conclusive proof that a player plays his best when fresh off a break it might pay to stick to the three mentioned above.

We know Max Homa is a rookie so cannot be sure of his involvement and Justin Thomas required a wild card selection, albeit, he has a superb record in the contest as the table above shows. Perhaps the one to concentrate on is the only LIV Golf player to make the contest, Brooks Koepka who won the PGA Championship but still required Zach Johnson to pick him.
The LIV Golf tour schedule may have inadvertently worked well for Brooks Koepka who sharpened his skills off a break at last week’s event in Chicago.
Brooks Koepka has been clear throughout that he uses LIV Golf events to sharpen his skills for the big events as golf’s current best after a fifth major this year. It is argued he is the Caesar when it comes to the major championships, and the is no better place than Rome to be the Caesar!
Take Brooks Koepka at (+750) one of the best sportsbooks in Top American Points Scorer this week.
