Another monster NHL card takes place this Thursday and if it’s anything to go by following Tuesday’s set of games we are in for another exciting night of hockey.

Check out the NHL betting odds available on the top sportsbooks, why we are targeting under in the Carolina and Seattle matchup, why we like the total to go over in Philadelphia, and Nikita Kucherov could be in for another fun night against the very weak San Jose Sharks.

Seattle Kraken vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Thursday, October 26, 2023 – 07:00 PM EDT at PNC Arena

Carolina in For Low Scoring Game Again

Following a heavy start to the season in terms of high-scoring games, the Hurricanes finally went cold as they got shut out in a 3-0 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 3-4 Hurricanes seen all 6 of their opening games go over the total with an eye-watering average of 5.9 goals per game. Although we haven’t checked, we know for sure this is one of the highest in the league as the Hurricanes score the 7th most goals per game with 3.90 and allow the most with 4.7.

You want to bet the over now, right? Well let’s not be so hasty, we like the under and believe the odds to lay the juice might just be worth it.

The Hurricanes were always due some regression to this over trend as they finished last season as the 2nd best defense with just 2.55 goals allowed per game, then we have to take a look at Seattle.

The Seattle Kraken are not very good at scoring right now, having only had 2.30 goals per game, and are 1-3 to the under 6.5 line when on the road. The Kraken are a much better team defensively than they are showing right now and they are likely also due regression to allowing less goals.

The Pick

Both these teams had just one night off so they might be a little tired and just happy to get out with a win, added to the fact 6 of Seattle’s previous 8 went under the total and only 1 of 5 previous matchups seen the total hit 7 or more goals.

San Jose Sharks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Thursday, October 26, 2023 – 07:00 PM EDT at Amalie Arena

Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay Lightning)

Are we not surprised to see Nikita Kucherov leading the Tampa Bay Lightning in points, he has done so almost every season since he was drafted to the team in 2011.

Kucherov is on a three-game scoring run having now scored 3/2/1 points in his previous three games and taking a look at his opponent tonight we believe he could be in for another 2+ point night against one of the worst teams in the NHL right now.

The San Jose Sharks allow 3.70 goals per game and on the road allowed 4.2 goals in their previous five visits to the Amalie Arena.

The Pick

Throughout his career, Kucherov has had a very respectable 14 points in 16 matchups against the Sharks and given the fact we believe tonight could be a blowout, we are more than prepared to take his points total over 1.5 tonight at +110 NHL betting odds.

Minnesota Wild vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Thursday, October 26, 2023 – 07:30 PM EDT at Wells Fargo Center

Soft Total Line Worth Targeting

The line for this matchup to go over 5.5 goals is currently -125 with BetOnline, which for us seems like a steal, although we usually don’t like to bet anything below -140, we would happily see value in this down to as low as -170, that’s how strong we are on this total hitting six or more goals.

This line is soft right now and don’t be surprised to see it pushed up to 6 come puck drop.

Let’s look to take the over in this cross-conference matchup, the Minnesota Wild are very wild right now as they allow and score a combined 4.20 goals per game whilst their previous three matchups on the road against the Flyers averaged 10 goals per game.

It would be a shock to see this game not hit 5 goals at the very least, which should be around -210 if you include the push.

The Pick

The Flyers are coming off back-to-back losses whilst the Wild are looking to make it two wins in a row following their 7-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers last time out.
