Plenty of exciting games taking place in the NHL tonight, it really was hard to pick our favorite bets as there were so many but here are three of the best picks at the top sportsbooks that you should consider taking for tonight’s card.

We are targeting one of the league’s top scorers at +190 NHL betting odds in the Big Apple, overs look to be on the cards in Tampa Bay and finally, we think Vancouver continue their winning streak.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Thursday, November 09, 2023 – 07:00 PM ET at Amalie Arena

Hard to See Low Scoring Outcome

This matchup does have the potential to be one of the highest-scoring games tonight and it shows with the 6.5 total line juiced as low as -115 towards the over.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have seen an average of 7.1 match goals in their previous 10 games, and whilst the Blackhawks’ numbers aren’t as impressive, their games have still been producing 5.7 goals per game and their previous three alone have seen 9/7/6 goals.

Tampa Bay’s previous three games seen 8/11/10 goals scored.

The Pick

Look to bet the over 6.5 goals in this matchup, despite the previous two encounters between these teams ending with only 4 and 5 goals respectively, this is a Lightning team who are without their number one goaltender and it’s also a Chicago team who now have Connor Bedard and big defensive issues.

Both teams allow the 8th most goals per game at 3.46, and whilst Chicago is only averaging 2.36 goals per game, Tampa Bay is the 4th highest scorer in the league with 3.86 goals per game.

Minnesota Wild vs. New York Rangers

Thursday, November 09, 2023 – 07:00 PM ET at Madison Square Garden

Panarin Can’t Be Stopped

We said it before and we will say it again, Artemi Panarin’s new hairless look seems to be bringing out the best in him as the 32-year-old Russian has scored the joint 3rd most points this season in the NHL.

Panarin has scored 8 more points than the next best Chris Kreider as well as having had a points-scoring streak at 12-0, never once this season has Panarin failed to score a point and on 7 of the 12 occasions Panarin has scored 2+ points.

I think you know where we are going with this one, and it has to be said we believe it has a lot of value as we are targeting Panarin’s over 1.5 points total for +190 NHL betting odds.

The man is on fire right now and cannot be stopped, he has massively contributed to the NY Rangers 9-2-1 record to start the season.

The Pick

This will only be the Rangers’ 5th home game of the season and face off against a Minnesota team who have allowed the 3rd most goals this season with 4 per game. The Rangers have scored 3+ game goals for 7 in a row now and we expect them to make it 8 tonight.

Panarin will get chances to score points against this Wild team, +190 seems very generous considering he is on a 12-game points streak and has scored more two pointer games than one, easily bet this down to as low as +150.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Ottawa Senators

Thursday, November 09, 2023 – 07:00 PM ET at Canadian Tire Centre

Take Canucks in the Canadian Battle

Although these two Canadian teams are in different conferences, there have been some humdingers in recent matchups with 9/8/7/10/7 goals scored in the previous five meetings and tonight could very well be another over game as the line is set at 6.5 with the Senators a league best 9-2 to the over 6.5 line and the Canucks boast the 6th best record to the over 6.5 line at 7-5.

The over looks good but our favorite pick in this matchup is the Vancouver Canucks to win on the moneyline at -120, despite being on the road they are favoured by the sportsbooks and it’s easy to see why.

The Canucks boast a 9-2-1 record this season and sit 2nd in the Western Conference behind the reigning Stanley Cup champions, whilst the Senators are joint last in the Eastern Conference with a 5-6 record.

Vancouver has been on a roll, winning 7 of their previous 8 games, even their only loss came in overtime meaning they have now scored at least one point in their eight previous games.

The Pick

The Canucks recently beat the San Jose Sharks 10-1, beat a very strong Dallas team 2-0, and most recently beat the Edmonton Oilers 6-2.

Meanwhile, Ottawa did have an impressive 6-3 win over Toronto last night, the issue is that it was last night and they are not only playing back-to-back games tonight but also had to travel last night, whilst the Canucks haven’t played in 2 days and should be well rested.
