Thursday is finally upon us and we have a big slate of games on our NHL card tonight, with no less than 14 games taking place.

We are targeting the Winnipeg Jets on the moneyline at plus money, Cale Maker looks to continue his scoring streak, and finally, Washington can keep winning on the road.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Winnipeg Jets

Thursday, November 30, 2023 – 08:00 PM ET at Canada Life Centre

Oilers Winning Streak to Come to an End

It’s funny how sports work, we have rarely opposed Edmonton this season when they were losing games regularly, and since we started opposing them, they have gone on a 3-0 winning streak, and tonight it’s back to the drawing board as we are yet again going to oppose the Canadian team when they come face to face with their Canadian counterparts.

Simply put, the Winnipeg Jets are on home ice and underdogs, which doesn’t sit right with us when they have one of the best goaltenders in the game in Connor Hellebuyck.

The Pick

Coming into this matchup, Winnipeg are 6th in the Western Conference, whilst Edmonton are 13th. The Jets are on a two-game losing streak, one of those games was on the road, whilst the other was a 2-0 loss on home ice against the Dallas Stars (respectable).

Edmonton thumped Anaheim 8-2 (no surprise), and despite coming away with a 5-4 victory over the Stanley Cup champions last time out, it did take penalties to seal the win.

Edmonton might be heating up right now, but Hellebuyck on home ice is no easy feat, and the Jets previous two home games against Edmonton ended 5-0 and 7-5. Win or lose we like the Jets as underdogs in this spot.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Arizona Coyotes

Thursday, November 30, 2023 – 09:00 PM ET at Mullett Arena

Cale Maker (Colorado Avalanche)

Cale Maker comes into this road game as the league’s top-scoring defenceman per game (he has one point less than Quinn Hughes but has played two games less).

Maker and Colorado should prove too strong for the Arizona Coyotes tonight. Despite being on the road, they are -120 favorites. We are more than prepared to bet Makers over 1.5 points at +110 in this matchup as the defenceman has now scored 2+ game points in 80% of his previous 10 games and has also had 3 game points in 4 of his previous 11.

The Pick

Throughout his career, Maker has had 16 points in 14 games against the Arizona Coyotes and has also averaged 2 points per game in his previous three matchups. We believe the Colorado Avalanche could put up some scores tonight, and Maker is the main man for Colorado right now, having had 4 more points than star player Nathan McKinnon.

Maker is without a doubt one of the best two-way defensemen in the NHL right now, having scored the 4th most amount of points in the NHL thus far this season.

NHL Pick: Cale Maker Over 1.5 Points (+110) at BetOnline

Washington Capitals vs Anaheim Ducks

Thursday, November 30, 2023 – 10:00 PM ET at Honda Center

Anaheim Cant Buy a Win Right Now

Washington got back to winning ways last night in California following their two-game losing streak. The Capitals win now sees them with an 11-8 overall record and they have just moved into a playoff position (albeit only 30% of the season is complete).

Anaheim started this season off in good form but recent results have not gone their way, as they are currently on a seven-game losing streak. For context, before this, they had won 8 of their opening 10 games.

The Pick

It’s easy to oppose a team in a losing slump, maybe not so much on home ice but given the offshore sportsbooks are giving this a 50/50 matchup in terms of odds, we can’t look past Washington at -110 NHL betting odds.

The Capitals have won four of their previous five road games and also cashed last night away to Los Angeles at +180, ironically their only road loss in their previous five came against the worst team in the league (San Jose), although it was only a 2-1 loss.
