It’s a 15-card slate this Friday in the NHL following yesterday’s Thanksgiving day off.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone, with that said let’s get into our NHL best picks and props this Friday, brought to you by the top offshore sportsbooks.

For our first pick the Washington Capitals are undervalued on home ice, elsewhere we are liking Cole Caufield to bring his shooting gloves and can Tampa Bay cover the +1.5 spread? We think not.

Montreal Canadiens vs. San Jose Sharks

Friday, November 24, 2023 – 03:30 PM ET at SAP Center

Caufield to Bring Shooting Gloves

Both these teams have a poor record but the Montreal Canadiens are much better than the San Jose Sharks, with an 8-9-2 overall record compared to San Jose’s 2-15-1.

We are targeting the Montreal Canadiens’ top shot-taker Cole Caufield to see over 3.5 shots in this game at -130 NHL betting odds. Caufield has averaged 3.9 shots per game this season, which is 1.2 shots per game more than the second-best on the team.

Caufield has also had the joint 7th most shots per game this season in the NHL and comes up against a San Jose Sharks team that allows the most shots in the entire NHL (37.85 shots per game).

The Pick

We are more than happy to lay the -130 on Cole Caufield to bring his shooting gloves in this matchup, he clearly has been impressive when it comes to shooting this season and when facing a team as poor as San Jose this seems like a no-brainer, don’t be surprised if Caufield ends the game with 5+ shots.

Interestingly Caufield’s over 4.5 shot line is coming in at +160 odds, which is without a doubt another play we would consider in this matchup.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Washington Capitals

Friday, November 24, 2023 – 03:00 PM ET at Capital One Arena

Washington Stronger Than Oilers Right Now

The Washington Capitals are on fire right now having gone 9-2 in their previous 11 games they are also on a five-game winning streak and have failed to lose in regulation during their previous seven matchups.

Now take a look at the Edmonton Oilers, who have only won 4 of their previous 15 games despite having two of the best players in the league. Its baffling to us why the Oilers are priced up as low as -125 to win this game, yes, they have two-star players but besides that, there’s not much to go off and defensively their allowing 4 goals per game (2nd worst in NHL)

The Pick

The Capitals have beaten Edmonton on home ice in 5 of their previous 6 games, and that’s when the Oilers were somewhat decent, but right now the Oilers are far from decent and it all seems to be coming apart at the seams.

The Capitals don’t score much but do have the sixth-best defense in the league, and the fact they don’t score much means little when facing a defense as weak as Edmonton’s.

Win or lose, there’s no way the Capitals should be priced up as underdogs in this game, we would bet them down to -110 on the moneyline.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Friday, November 24, 2023 – 08:00 PM ET at PNC Arena

Tampa Bay Inconsistent

Despite the Tampa Bay Lightning being 4th overall in the Eastern Conference, they have not been a reliable team this season and are currently only 4th overall because they have played 3-4 games more than most teams around them.

The Lightning are 9-11 overall this season, whilst opponents Carolina are 11-7. The Lightning are 11-9 ATS but it’s worth noting they have covered the spread in their previous 4 games, whilst Carolina has covered the spread in 3 of their previous 5 games.

The Pick

Carolina is starting to pick up the peace and has covered the spread against Tampa Bay in three of the previous four games on home ice. We believe the Hurricanes can win tonight and it’s worth taking their -1.5 PK line for the +135 NHL betting odds available.

A win for Carolina tonight will see them go ahead of Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference.
