The post-Christmas slate is finally upon us, with 14 games taking place across the NHL tonight. Here are three of our favorite picks ahead of tonight’s action.

We are backing one of the league’s top goalscorers to get back on the scoreboard, the St Louis Blues could cause an upset on home ice whilst the Los Angeles Kings face California rivals on home ice in a very winnable matchup.

Let’s dive into the NHL odds and see how to finish the year big in our main offshore sportsbooks!

Boston Bruins vs. Buffalo Sabres

Wednesday, December 27, 2023 – 07:30 PM ET at KeyBank Center

David Pastrnak (Boston Bruins)

The Boston Bruins and David Pastrnak come into tonight’s road game with a 19-7-6 overall record, whilst Pastrnak is currently the highest goalscorer on the Bruins roster this season with 20 goals scored.

This also makes him the 4th highest goalscorer in the NHL this season. We are more than happy to lay the -110 juice on Pastrnak to get on the scoreboard yet again tonight, as the Buffalo Sabres have allowed the 6th most amount of goals this season (3.43 per game)

The Pick

Pastrnak has scored 6 goals in his previous 7 NHL outings, but a major blow for the Bruins is the fact they are currently on a four-game losing streak. Pastrnak and co should be up for changing that trend for this matchup and, at the very least, he should be in with a chance of scoring against this opposition tonight.

Pastrnak has scored 7 times in his previous 10 games against the Buffalo Sabres.

Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis Blues

Wednesday, December 27, 2023 – 08:00 PM ET at Enterprise Center

St Louis Backable as Underdogs

Despite St. Louis playing against a formidable opponent, and the team being 3rd overall in the Western Conference, we are confident they can cause an upset here on home ice as underdogs at NHL betting odds of +150 on the moneyline.

The Dallas Stars might be caught sleeping post-Christmas and St. Louis have slowly started to get stronger and more consistent as the season has gone on. Winning 4 of their previous 5 games, they now find themselves just one position off a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Blues are 11-10-1 as underdogs thus far this season.

The Pick

The Blues have won 6 of their previous 9 home games. Whilst the Dallas Stars might have the 2nd best road record in the Western Conference, they have only gone 1-4 in their previous five road games before the Christmas break.

We believe +150 odds are way too high for a team as strong as the Blues on home ice. Of course, the Stars are a formidable opponent, with that said we advise betting the Blues down to around +130 on the moneyline in this home matchup.

San Jose Sharks vs. Los Angeles Kings

Wednesday, December 27, 2023 – 10:00 PM ET at Crypto.com Arena

California Rivalry

It might be a rivalry matchup, but it might not be a very competitive one, as the Los Angeles Kings boast a record of 19-7-4 compared to their opponents’ poor record sitting at 9-22-3. Ironically, most of the Sharks wins came during a 10-game stretch in which they went on to win six of those ten (two of which required overtime to be played).

It seems the Sharks’ purple patch has long since gone as they are now back in familiar territory riding a five-game losing streak in which they have scored 9 and allowed 23.

The Pick

The Kings only recently played the Sharks prior to the Christmas break and they walked away from that game as winners by 4 goals to 1. We expect something similar tonight, hence the reason we are backing the Kings to cover the spread yet again at -120.

It might seem like a lot of juice to lay for a -1.5 PK line, but we must remember the Sharks are 13-21 ATS this season (4th worst in the NHL). Interestingly, the Kings have failed to cover the spread in their previous four home games when facing the Sharks.

Tonight we are hoping they break that trend.
