Carolina Hurricanes vs. Nashville Predators
Thursday, April 06, 2023 – 08:00 PM EDT at Bridgestone Arena
The Hurricanes enjoy a three-point lead over the second-place Devils with a game in hand and only five games remaining in the regular season. They enter this meeting in the Music City riding a three-game winning streak and will try to clinch the division title as they begin a three-game road trip on Thursday night.
On the flip side, we see the Predators fresh off of a 3-2 overtime victory against the Knights, cashing as +133 home underdogs at North Carolina betting sites. Nashville can still cop a wild card berth but time is running out as they are one of four teams in contention for two spots.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Hurricanes had this rematch circled on their calendar after dropping a 5-3 decision to the Predators in front of the fan friendlies earlier this season. But now the venue has shifted to Nashville and Carolina’s defense remains even stingier than usual, allowing an average of one goal per game over their last three contests.
I’m not sure how lightning will strike twice for the Predators as they simply don’t have the offensive chops to crack a stalwart Carolina defense and beat one of three exceptional goaltenders. Yes, the Canes are stacked defensively and should be able to muster enough offense to get the W tonight.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Vegas Golden Knights
Thursday, April 06, 2023 - 10:00 PM EDT at T-Mobile Arena
The Kings are gunning for second place in the Pacific and a win over the division-leading Golden Knights could not only leapfrog them over the Oilers but get them within two points of Vegas for the top spot. It’s a big game for the Kings and one they need after dropping a 3-1 decision to Edmonton on Tuesday.
Naturally, the Knights don’t have the luxury of mailing this one in despite their three-point lead over the second-place Oilers. But Vegas seems to have lost a bit of their mojo down the stretch, having dropped three of their last five games including a 3-2 overtime loss to Nashville on Tuesday night.
The Kings are a decent road team while the Knights have been less than stellar at home as evidenced by their 23-15-1 record at the T-Mobile Arena.
We should also note this is the final regular season game between these divisional rivals with the Knights winning the first matchup back on October, 4-3, while the Kings claimed victories in the last two contests with a 4-2 win in December followed by a 5-1 win in Sin City in January.
Los Angeles is playing better recently and trounced the Knights the last time they visited the T-Mobile Arena. Kevin Fiala, the Kings’ leading point-getter, had a hat-trick in that 5-1 win but a nagging lower-body injury has benched him over the last two games. Hopefully, we will see him back in action tonight.

Arizona Coyotes vs. Seattle Kraken
Thursday, April 06, 2023 - 10:30 PM EDT at Climate Pledge Arena
It brings me great joy to fade bad teams but my indulgence often comes at a dizzying price which is why I routinely have to force myself to steer clear of laying the lumber and move on to another game. And betting against the Coyotes tonight comes with a similarly steep price but I am going to trim most of that juice by betting the dangerous Seattle Kraken on the puck line.
Although the Kraken have a middling defense, I’m not all that concerned considering Arizona is equipped with one of the worst offenses in the league, averaging just 2.7 goals per game. Something we should also consider, the Coyotes are dead last in the league in shots on goal while the Kraken’s defense is ranked No. 2 in shots allowed.
It’s little wonder that Seattle cruised to an 8-1 victory just three nights ago in this same arena over Arizona. The Coyotes are on an eight-game losing streak and number nine is right around the corner. Lay the 1 ½ goals on Seattle and don’t sweat it, just bet it.
