MLB Pick: Three-Legged Parlay (+456) at Bookmaker (visit our Bookmaker Review)

- Orioles ML (-190)
- Astros-Pirates Under 8 (-110)
- Tigers-Blue Jays Under 8.5 (-110)
Tuesday’s MLB parlay begins with the Orioles beating the A’s and concludes with a couple of ‘Under’ winners later in the evening for your MLB picks.
Oakland Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles
Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – 06:35 PM EDT at Oriole Park at Camden Yards
A couple of young Texans toe the rubber in Charm City on Tuesday, and while the game won’t have much of an impact on whether the Oakland Athletics or Baltimore Orioles reach the postseason, the matchup is at least a glimpse into the future of both franchises.
- Kyle Muller: 0-0, 2.53
- Grayson Rodriguez: 0-0, 3.60
First Starts vs. Opposition for Both Hurlers
Baltimore used a combination of excellent pitching and three long balls to score a 5-1 win in Monday’s opener. The O’s were a pronounced favorite on the MLB odds, and they are heavy chalk again Tuesday at around -190 on the moneyline with most shops selling the total at 8.
Oakland split Muller’s first two starts, and the biggest difference between the outings was the lefthander faced seven more batters on 95 pitches in the second compared to a 72-pitch effort on Opening Day. The Dallas native is facing Baltimore for the first time in his career.
A native of Houston, Rodriguez made his MLB debut last Wednesday not too far from Dallas and held his own (5 IP, 2 ER) going head-to-head with the Rangers’ Jacob deGrom. The 11th overall pick in 2018 had a rough spring and a shaky Triple-A start before his MLB debut.
O’s Extend A’s Skid
There just isn’t much offense being scored by the Oakland lineup right now, and while Baltimore isn’t a world-beater yet, the Orioles are an easy pick for the first leg of our parlay.

MLB Pick: Orioles ML (-190)
Houston Astros vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – 06:35 PM EDT at PNC Park
Framber Valdez looked like his old self on Monday and got plenty of support from the Houston Astros’ lineup in an 8-2 win over Pittsburgh, and that has the Pirates looking to even the set on Tuesday.
- Cristian Javier: 1-0, 3.27
- Mitch Keller: 1-0, 3.86
Another Case of 1st Career Starts vs. Opposition
Houston is once again carrying big chalk into this interleague collision between former division rivals, with outlets listing the Astros -170 to -175 and favoring the ‘Over’ on an 8-run total.
Javier got knocked around a bit in his season debut (5 IP, 3 ER) against the White Sox, but bounced back with a nice showing against the Tigers last Wednesday (6 IP, 1 ER). The bottom line is the Astros won both games, and the Pirates will be facing Javier for the first time.
Pittsburgh also won Keller’s first two starts, each coming on the road and each one with the Pirates playing the underdog role at Bookmaker. This is the Astros’ first time to face Keller, and he posted a 3.72 ERA in 16 starts and one relief outing at PNC Park a season ago.
Can Bucs Overcome Loss of Cruz?
Pittsburgh was dealt a serious blow over the weekend when shortstop Oneil Cruz suffered a broken ankle, and he isn’t expected back until late August. His absence is huge for the Pirates’ offense, and with Houston’s lineup also not yet banging consistently, I’ll play this one ‘Under’.
MLB Pick: Under 8 (-110)
Detroit Tigers vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – 07:07 PM EDT at Rogers Centre
Though technically not located squarely on the 49th parallel, Detroit and Toronto are close enough to be called true international neighbors, and their series opener on Tuesday finds the Tigers struggling in the early going while the Blue Jays are on a good roll with their young ace on the bump at home.
- Matt Manning: 1-0, 3.18
- Alek Manoah: 1-0, 4.35
Jays Sporting Thick Chalk Line
After starting the season with 10 games on the road, the Blue Jays finally get to play their home opener. Toronto is burdened with some of the heaviest chalk on Tuesday’s MLB betting card with a -270 moneyline and the total running 8½-9.
Manning pitched into the sixth a week ago in Houston and came out of it with the dubya as a huge underdog on BMR’s live odds board in a 6-3 final. The lanky righty had no decision in his appearance against the Blue Jays in 2021 (6 IP, 1 ER).
After being cracked on in St. Louis on Opening Day, a game the Blue Jays ultimately won 10-9, Manoah looked to be back in form last Wednesday in Kansas City with 7 innings of 1-hit, shutout baseball. Manoah is 0-1 with a 4.63 ER (11.2 IP) in two starts against Detroit.
‘Under’ Cashes Last 7 Meetings in Toronto
The Blue Jays won three of the four matchups with the Tigers in Toronto a season ago, and all four games stayed ‘Under’ the marks. I’m inclined to play this one to come up short as well.
MLB Pick: Under 8.5 (-110)
