The best and worst of the NL East continue their series in Atlanta on Tuesday where the Braves send Max Fried (1-0, 7.71) to the bump opposite Miami’s Trevor Rogers (0-2, 3.92), and the Marlins are once again heavy underdogs in hopes of evening the set.
Braves Blank Fish in Series Opener
Fried bested Rogers and the Marlins 11 days ago in Miami where the Braves scored an 8-1 decision as -190 chalk on the MLB odds. Rogers didn’t pitch badly (5 IP, 2 R), but got no support and his bullpen imploded after his departure, while Fried worked into the seventh allowing just 1 run.
Miami also provided no support for Ryan Weathers in Monday’s 3-0 loss to Atlanta, and that has been an issue so far this season with the Marlins ranking 13th in the NL averaging 3.54 RPG. The Braves lead the Senior Circuit scoring 6.10 RPG.
