We’ve studied the EPL betting markets to formulate the best betting picks for this weekend’s fixtures involving Burnley vs. Tottenham, Chelsea vs. Nottingham Forest, and more.

Continue reading for this weekend’s soccer betting picks from across the Premier League fixtures set to take place on September 2 & 3, as chosen by leading offshore sportsbooks.

Burnley FC vs. Tottenham Hotspur FC

  • When: Saturday, Sept. 2 – 10:00 AM EDT
  • Where: Turf Moor
  • Win/Loss Record (Last 5): Burnley W/L/L/W/W – Tottenham Hotspur D/W/W/D/W

Stats, Odds, & Prediction

  • Spurs are undefeated versus Burnley in 15 of their last 17 competitive games.
  • Tottenham has scored at least 1 goal in 16 consecutive games in all competitions.
  • Burnley has conceded six goals combined in their previous 3 EPL games.

Reestablishing Momentum

Tottenham Hotspur haters reveled in the Lillywhites’ midweek exit from the EFL Cup. Fulham sent the North London club packing after a tense penalty shootout. However, Premier League bettors mustn’t lose focus on what Spurs have achieved in the new domestic season.

Spearheaded by the recently appointed Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham ran through Manchester United and Bournemouth with identical scorelines (2-0) following a tough-fought draw against Brentford on Matchday 1. More notably, they’ve netted six goals, proving that a goal-happy life without Harry Kane is achievable.

Home Turf Woes

Vincent Kompany’s men were a force to be reckoned with in the English Championship last term. Still, since returning to England’s top flight, they’ve faltered in establishing their presence with back-to-back domestic losses – conceding six goals combined during their first two games of the season.

More worryingly, Burnley owned a home-turf advantage in those pair of season openers. A midweek EFL Cup success is a positive. Still, with Spurs looking to make a statement this weekend and Manchester United and Newcastle United awaiting the Clarets, it could be a rough start to life in the Premier League.

EPL Matchday 4 Betting Odds & Predictions

Unsurprisingly, the English Premier League odds have placed as slight betting favorites, and with domestic momentum on their side, it’s difficult to ignore the excellent moneyline value.

Spurs are seeking out their first four-game unbeaten streak away from home this weekend, and after winning 4 of their last 5 encounters with the Clarets, confidence will be siding with Postecoglou’s unit.

Score Prediction: Burnley 0 – 2 Tottenham Hotspur

The Pick

Furthermore, Burnley is dealing with a slew of injuries, adding further worries for Kompany, who’s guiding a club that hasn’t won a Premier League fixture since April 2022.

Chelsea FC vs. Nottingham Forest

  • When: Saturday, Sept. 2 – 10:00 AM EDT
  • Where: Stamford Bridge
  • Win/Loss Record (Last 5): Chelsea W/W/L/D/D – Nottingham Forest L/L/W/L/D

Stats, Odds, & Prediction

  • Nottingham Forest has scored at least 1 goal in 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions.
  • Chelsea is riding a 2-game win streak in all competitions.
  • Chelsea has allowed at least 1 goal in 5 of their last 6 games in all competitions.

Stopping the Underdog

Albeit with several squad changes, watching Chelsea struggle to overcome a League Two Wimbledon squad during their EFL Cup opener midweek wasn’t the performance Blues fans expected.

They have, however, at least collected four points from their first three Premier League meetings this term. And with a return a Stamford Bridge, Chelsea hopefuls will be banking on Mauricio Pochettino’s expertise to take all three points from a relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest of last season.

The Blues cannot take Forest lightly, though, as fellow big-six sides Arsenal and Manchester United have already had scares versus the overlooked underdog.

Close, But Not Close Enough

Visits to the Emirates and Old Trafford have given Steve Cooper’s men a rough schedule of late, but after holding Arsenal to a tight 2-1 win and then taking a 2-0 lead over Manchester United, Nottingham Forest is giving the division’s best a run for their money despite losing both games.

Now, Stamford Bridge is the next destination, and we’d be naive to underestimate the goal-scoring ability of Forest. They kept Manchester United at Bay with 10 men and were unlucky to lose 3-2, while also causing Arsenal fans to sweat on their ground with a mere 1 goal separating them from a win or a loss.

EPL Matchday 4 Betting Odds & Predictions

Unsurprisingly, the odds have placed Chelsea as this weekend’s betting favorites. And the face value of Forest losing 2 of their 3 EPL season openers is undesirable, indeed, but the respective performances against Arsenal and Man Utd state otherwise.

The last time Forest visited Stamford Bridge, they left with a commendable 2-2 draw, and while it’s a stretch to believe they can take all three points on Saturday, delivery in the final third is something we can bank on.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 2 -1 Nottingham Forest

The Pick

Both teams’ scoring has been a consistent trend for each club, and we expect another gritty fight to the death from Cooper and company, thus making both teams’ score market at near plus-money an excellent value play.
