Stopping the Underdog
Albeit with several squad changes, watching Chelsea struggle to overcome a League Two Wimbledon squad during their EFL Cup opener midweek wasn’t the performance Blues fans expected.
They have, however, at least collected four points from their first three Premier League meetings this term. And with a return a Stamford Bridge, Chelsea hopefuls will be banking on Mauricio Pochettino’s expertise to take all three points from a relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest of last season.
The Blues cannot take Forest lightly, though, as fellow big-six sides Arsenal and Manchester United have already had scares versus the overlooked underdog.
Close, But Not Close Enough
Visits to the Emirates and Old Trafford have given Steve Cooper’s men a rough schedule of late, but after holding Arsenal to a tight 2-1 win and then taking a 2-0 lead over Manchester United, Nottingham Forest is giving the division’s best a run for their money despite losing both games.
Now, Stamford Bridge is the next destination, and we’d be naive to underestimate the goal-scoring ability of Forest.
