NCAAF Pick: Wisconsin +14½ (-110) at Bovada (visit our Bovada Review)
The online betting sites post early NCAAF odds for a reason and we like to see where the lines go so that we can take advantage of underdogs getting too many points or favorites laying too few.
Let’s scour the board and find the loosest lines at the best offshore sportsbooks and make some more money this week in college football!
Connecticut Huskies vs. Boston College Eagles
Saturday, October 28, 2023 – 12:00 PM EDT at Alumni Stadium
Key Facts
- Connecticut is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Boston College.
- Connecticut is 2-13 SU in their last 15 games on the road.
- Connecticut is 3-6 ATS in their last 9 games.
This line on this game has been drifting north to as high as BC -13½ at some shops but we find Heritage is still holding fast at -12 as of this Sunday evening writing. And I think that is an excellent number considering how well the Eagles have been playing while juxtaposing that with UConn’s rather lethargic fourth-quarter effort against South Florida last week in which they allowed the Bulls to claw their way back into the game and eventually secure a 24-21 victory at Connecticut.
Neither of these teams has a defense but the big difference is that the Huskies can’t score and the Eagles can. UConn ranks 111th in passing yards (188.3 YPG), 85th in rushing yards (141 YPG), and 112th in scoring, averaging 20.2 points per game. In short, this team is woefully inept in all phases of the game as evidenced by their 1-6 record.
And although BC is no juggernaut themselves, they can run the ball and quarterback Thomas Castellanos is the team’s biggest rushing threat with a team-leading 628 yards, a 5.7 yards per carry average, and nine rushing touchdowns.
The Pick
BC is coming off an impressive 38-23 road win over Georgia Tech and now they return home to Chestnut Hill where they nearly upset nationally ranked Florida State earlier this season but ultimately fell, 31-29, as 27 ½ point home dogs.
Lay it and like it with the Eagles.
NCAAF Pick: Boston College -12 (-108) at Heritage Sports (visit our Heritage Sports Review)
Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Wisconsin Badgers
Saturday, October 28, 2023 – 07:30 PM EDT at Camp Randall Stadium
Key Facts
- Wisconsin is 4-1 SU in their last 5 games.
- Wisconsin is 8-3 SU in their last 11 games played in October.
- Wisconsin is 11-4 SU in their last 15 games played in Week 9.
There’s nothing the public likes better than a big favorite that just happens to be a household name. Ohio State fits that bill to a T but it’s also the reason why the line is inflated. But to be fair, the Buckeyes have owned the Badgers in recent memory, having defeated them in 9 of the last 10 meetings including last year’s 52-21 victory at the Shoe, covering as 19-point home chalk.
But the venue will shift this year to Wisconsin’s playpen and I believe this will be a closer game than many anticipate. Although I don’t anticipate an upset, I do feel the Badgers can keep the chains moving and the clock ticking when they run the ball. The Badgers average nearly 186 yards per game (33rd) and are ranked 22nd in plays per game.
The Pick
Wisconsin is good enough to keep this game within two touchdowns especially considering Ohio State is coming off a big 20-12 win over national powerhouse, Penn State, and could be flat coming into this one.

Oregon State Beavers vs. Arizona Wildcats
Saturday, October 28, 2023 – 10:30 PM EDT at Arizona Stadium
Key Facts
- Oregon State is 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games.
- Oregon State is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games when playing on the road against Arizona.
- Oregon State is 5-0 SU in their last 5 games played in October.
On October 14, the Beavers picked up an impressive, 36-24, victory over Pac-12 rival, UCLA, in which DJ Uiagalelei fired a pair of touchdown passes and ended with 266 yards while Damien Martinez chewed up 90 of the team’s 133 rushing yards. The defense contributed with a pick-six and this game was never in doubt as Oregon State led from box to wire and covered as 3½ point home chalk with ease.
The Beavers will take on another conference foe this week when they travel to the desert to exchange unpleasantries with Arizona. Both teams have decent defenses but Oregon State has a more complete offense, ranked 13th in the nation, averaging 38.1 points per game. That advantage, coupled with the Beavers’ opportunistic defense that ranks 20th in forced turnovers will be the difference here.
The Pick
This number has tumbled a full point from the opener and we can now get the Beavers below a key number (4) but still north of the magical three. Buy the hook to -3 if it will help you sleep but I don’t think Oregon State will need it.
