We’re headed to Week 3 of the college football season. Here are three NCAAF computer predictions from our AI model that you should consider for Saturday.

Will Purdue be able to upset Syracuse after a big road win at Virginia Tech? Will the Seminoles be able to maintain their terrific form when they visit Boston College? Let’s break down the NCAAF odds for these games and the Kansas State Wildcats vs. Missouri Tigers matchup.

Syracuse Orange vs. Purdue Boilermakers

Saturday, September 16, 2023 – 07:30 PM EDT at Ross-Ade Stadium

Orange Juice

The AI Model suggests the Syracuse Orange will earn a 31-25 win over the Purdue Boilermakers on the road in an exciting Week 3 matchup. Purdue’s taking a step back while Syracuse is making some noise. There’s value on Syracuse at -3.

The Syracuse Orange have looked incredible to start the season. They haven’t faced tough teams, but they’ve earned massive wins.

Great Start

The Orange knocked off Colgate, 65-0, and defeated Western Michigan, 48-7. Those are great wins for the program. Now they’ll take on a Big Ten foe in Purdue.

Better Than Expected?

The Purdue Boilermakers are among the worst teams in the Big Ten this year. However, they pulled up a 24-17 win against Virginia Tech last weekend, thanks to stellar defense in the second half.

But if you want to talk about stellar defense, you’ll have to talk about Syracuse. The Orange have allowed 212 yards per game, including just 75.5 yards per game on the ground.

Attacking Weapons

On offense, Garrett Shrader has brown five touchdowns and just one interception. Then there’s Lequint Allen, who has added four touchdowns on 24 carries.

The Purdue secondary hasn’t played well, and the missed tackles will certainly hurt them down the stretch.

The Pick

The Boilermakers have added nearly 400 yards of offense per game behind Texas transfer Hudson Card. But the pass protection has been awful. Syracuse will put a lot of hits on Card in this game. Some will be sacks.

Take Syracuse here.

Kansas State Wildcats vs. Missouri Tigers

Saturday, September 16, 2023 – 12:00 PM EDT at Memorial Stadium

Top 25

Our AI Model believes the Kansas State Wildcats will earn a 38-21 win over the Missouri Tigers on the road in a Week 3 non-conference matchup. The Wildcats are only -5 favorites, giving Kansas State some value on the spread.

The Kansas State Wildcats will look to keep their Top 25 spot against an SEC team on Saturday.

SEC Foe

The Wildcats won’t get an Alabama-like SEC team. Instead, it’ll be the Missouri Tigers, who are also 2-0 on the season. Missouri hasn’t been tested against good teams. Yet, somehow, they only beat South Dakota, 35-10, and Middle Tennessee State, 23-19.

That’s not good.

On the Other Hand

Meanwhile, Kansas State earned a 45-0 win over Southeastern Missouri and a 42-13 win over Troy.

That’s good.

Good Balance

Kansas State has earned nearly 500 yards per game on offense. They’ve also held teams to just over 256 yards per game on defense. They’re playing great ball with Will Howard at quarterback.

Meanwhile, DJ Giddens has added 27 carries for 180 yards. That’s an average of 6.7 yards per carry. Missouri’s run defense has been good so far. But against Kansas State, that likely won’t continue.

The Pick

On the other hand, I’ve been impressed with Kansas State’s pass rush. The run defense has also allowed just 38 yards per game this year.
Back Kansas State to cover against Missouri on the road.

Florida State Seminoles vs. Boston College Eagles

Saturday, September 16, 2023 – 12:00 PM EDT at Alumni Stadium

Another Big Win

Our AI Model believes the Florida State Seminoles will earn a 52-16 win over the Boston College Eagles on Saturday. The Eagles almost lost to an FCS school last weekend.

Meanwhile, Florida State is in line for a College Football Playoff berth. There’s value in this game, with Florida State at -27.5.

Looking Dominant

The Florida State Seminoles look dominant through the first two games. The offense is unstoppable.

The Seminoles added 45 points against LSU and scored 66 against Southern Miss. Now, they’ll take on one of the worst Power-five teams in America in the Boston College Eagles.

The Eagles lost to Northern Illinois, 27-24 overtime, and almost lost to Holy Cross, an FCS school, with a 31-28 win.

Very Bad

Boston College has earned just 358.5 yards per game on offense. They’ve added only 184.5 yards per game in the air behind Thomas Castellanos. He’s got a QBR of 33.2, which is 113th in college football.

The Pick

On the other hand, Jordan Travis is quarterback for the Seminoles. The senior leader has thrown six touchdowns and one interception. He’s found his favorite target, Keon Coleman, 12 times for 170 yards and four touchdowns.

The pass rush is weak for Boston College, and the secondary isn’t appealing either. Florida State will throw all over the Eagles in this game.

Take Florida State against the spread.
