Miami Hurricanes vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack

Saturday, November 04, 2023 – 8:00 PM EDT at Carter-Finley Stadium

Key Facts

  • Miami-FL is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games on the road.
  • Miami-FL is 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games.
  • North Carolina State is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games played in week 10.

Three of the last four meetings between these teams have been decided by a touchdown or less including last year’s game when the Hurricanes defeated the Wolfpack, 31-30, and covered as 3 ½ point home dogs.

This season the venue will shift to NC State territory and the Canes have not been a profitable team on the road as they have covered in just two of their last seven games on the highway and this one will be no different.

The Pick

Let’s also understand that Miami has gone into overtime in their last two games, barely edging Virginia Tech last week in a 29-26 win but not even sniffing a cover as 19-point home chalk. I suspect they will be flat and gassed this week against their ACC rivals from North Carolina State. Grab the home dog and get the extra hook over at Bookmaker.

James Madison Dukes vs. Georgia State Panthers

Saturday, November 04, 2023 – 3:30 PM EDT at Center Parc Stadium

Key Facts

  • James Madison is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games.
  • James Madison is 10-0 SU in their last 10 games.
  • Georgia State is 3-6 SU in their last 9 games played in week 10.

Two years ago, James Madison was a big fish in a small pond as the runner-up in the FCS National Championship game. But last year they made the leap to the FBS and ended with a respectable 8-3 record. This year they picked up where they left off and are now the No. 23 team in the nation with an undefeated record.

This program is for real, despite toiling in the lightly regarded Sun Belt Conference, and we are getting an excellent number over at BetOnline that allows us to avoid two key numbers (6, 7). Moreover, James Madison’s run-stop unit is nails, ranked tops in the nation, allowing an absurdly low 36.1 yards per game.

The Pick

And that’s just about the only thing this Georgia State offense does well is run the ball but they will gain no traction against the Dukes’ ferocious front line. Let’s lay it and like it on Saturday.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Clemson Tigers

Saturday, November 04, 2023 – 12:00 PM EDT at Memorial Stadium

Key Facts

  • Notre Dame is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games on the road.
  • Notre Dame is 13-3 SU in their last 16 games.
  • Clemson is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games.

These teams battled last season under the Golden Dome and the Irish dispatched the Tigers handily in a 35-14 victory as four-point home underdogs. This season the Tigers will get the homefield advantage but the results will be the same.

Clemson enters this game as a deflated team having lost its last two games to Miami and NC State as 6 ½ and 10-point favorites, respectively. Those are games the Tigers were expected to win but came up woefully short in both contests.

Conversely, Notre Dame has battled some of the best teams in the nation and acquitted themselves quite nicely. Earlier this season they bowed, 17-14, in a defensive struggle to the formidable Buckeyes of Ohio State, covering as 3 ½ point underdogs.

The Irish have also taken on No. 17 Duke and No. 10 USC, not only beating both teams but covering the number as well. This Tigers’ iteration is a middling 4-4 team that still gets street cred because it’s Clemson. But don’t let the name or the uniforms fool you because this edition is far removed from those championship-caliber squads from a few years ago.

The Pick

Clemson’s offense is pedestrian this season but Notre Dame’s defense is one of the best in the business, ranked No. 10 in points allowed, averaging just 15.3 PPG. I just don’t understand how the Tigers will score enough points to keep this one within the margins.

Additionally, Notre Dame’s offense appears to be peaking if last week’s 58-7 victory over Pittsburgh is any indication. Lay the three and cash a ticket.

NCAAF Pick: Notre Dame -3 (-110) at Bovada
