There are four games in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 on Friday night, but also seven games on the NBA slate. Cross-sport parlays, anyone? Here are three NBA prop picks for the night via BetOnline, one of BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks.
Utah Jazz vs. Charlotte Hornets
Friday, March 25, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Spectrum Center
Donovan Mitchell
- Over/Under 29.5 Points
This is likely to be a major shootout with the Hornets ranking fifth in the NBA in scoring and Utah sixth at 113.7. The reason the Jazz are good and Charlotte is mediocre is because Utah plays some defense, while the Hornets allow 114.6 ppg, better than only tanking Sacramento and Houston.
I generally don’t recommend going over such a big point total of 29.5 points, but Utah's Donovan Mitchell is feeling it right now! The Jazz looked terrible Wednesday in a potential NBA Finals preview in Boston, but Mitchell showed up with 37 points.

It was his fourth straight game with at least 30, a career-high streak, and he’s averaging 33.8 points on 45.1 percent shooting overall and 40.8 percent from deep over the past five.
Mitchell needs eight points tonight to pass Gordon Hayward (8,077), who plays for the Hornets now but is out injured, for eighth in all-time Jazz points
Utah will need Mitchell to keep up the scoring spree because second-leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic (18.1 ppg) remains out with a calf injury. That he hasn’t played since March 12 and Mitchell has gone nuclear since then is not a coincidence.
The Jazz beat the visiting Hornets 112-102 on Dec. 20 with Mitchell a bit off that night in shooting 7-for-20 for 21 points. Bogdanovic was around then and “stole” 15 shots, finishing with 23 points.
NBA Pick: Mitchell over 29.5 points (121) with BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)
Golden State Warriors vs. Atlanta Hawks
Friday, March 25, 2022 – 07:30 PM EDT at State Farm Arena
Trae Young
- Over/Under 36.5 Points + Assists
NBA TV has this telecast. Sadly, we won’t have a matchup of two of the most exciting point guards in the league in Golden State’s Steph Curry and Atlanta’s Trae Young – is any player in the NBA more like Curry than Young is?
Not saying as good, but just their styles, long-range shooting, lack of defense, etc. Curry remains out with a left foot injury, which probably bums Young out but also means he won’t have to chase the two-time MVP around defensively and can save his effort for the offensive side.
While this game means nothing to Golden State, it still matters for Atlanta as the Hawks battle for positioning in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament.

Young averages 28.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, so if he simply hits those we will go over here. Young has 54 games this season with at least 20 points, by far a career-high. Only DeMar DeRozan (58), Nikola Jokic (58), and Jayson Tatum (57) have more 20-or-more scoring outings this season.
Young has posted 36 points/assists double-doubles, the most in the NBA and second-most in Hawks single-season franchise history behind Mookie Blaylock’s 42 in 1993-94. You know Young wants to break that.
When the Hawks lost 127-113 at Golden State on Nov. 8, Young had 28 points and nine assists, which would work perfectly tonight. Curry did play in that game and had 50 points.
NBA Pick: Young over 36.5 P+A (-110) with BetOnline
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Friday, March 25, 2022 – 10:30 PM EDT at Crypto.com Arena
Marcus Morris Sr.
- Over/Under 13.5 Points
It’s important that bettors start keeping track of teams that essentially are locked into their playoff seeding because those clubs will be resting their players down the stretch to keep them healthy and fresh for the postseason.
The Los Angeles Clippers are one of those teams. They sit eighth in the West, six games behind No. 7 Minnesota and 4.5 ahead of No. 9 New Orleans. Essentially, the Clips are locked in.
Thus, Coach Tyronn Lue has announced that starting guard Reggie Jackson will be capped at 32 minutes per game for the rest of the regular season, Marcus Morris Sr. will be limited to 25 minutes, and Nicolas Batum to 19.
Morris averages 15.9 points in about 30 minutes per game, so knock off five minutes – and, again, 25 minutes is a cap; he could play less – and I find it hard to see Morris scoring more than 13 points, especially against a good defensive team like Philadelphia.
The past four times Morris has played less than 25 points, he has scored five, 13, 11, and four points. With that in mind, you should review our NBA odds.
NBA Pick: Morris Sr. under 13.5 points (-113) with BetOnline
