Last 6 A’s Games Go ‘Over’
Ross Stripling (1-6, 5.14) is coming off a nightmare last Tuesday against Texas, making his exit in the second inning and charged with 11 runs (5 earned). That was the second such experience against the Rangers this year, and he owns a 3.40 ERA across his other 6 starts.
Spencer Arrighetti (0-4, 8.44) knows all about nightmares on the mound, having taken a beating in his MLB debut (3 IP, 7 ER), and suffering another loss last Wednesday in the Bronx when he allowed 3 HR and 5 runs in five frames.
Astros Home Struggles Continue
Houston won 10 of the 13 matchups in 2024, the third consecutive season series victory in the rivalry for the Astros. The best way to play the MLB odds a year ago was to bank on the ‘under’ at Minute Maid where all 6 game totals came up short.
Playing at home continues to be a problem for the Astros, who have no business being -180 chalk against anyone right now. Both teams are trending ‘over,’ but my crystal ball says to go the other way in Monday’s series opener at the top sportsbooks.
