Adam Svensson: Unleashing His Best Golf
Canadian Adam Svensson caught my eye in the rear-view mirror this week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The Canadian has been quiet in 2023 after winning his first PGA Tour title in the fall of 2022 at the RSM Classic.
Last week was a solid putting one for the twenty-nine-year-old Canadian and that’s often the key to unleashing his best golf. He can be known for big fluctuations in that key metric but when he is on a good week, Svensson knows where the winning line is.
That’s a huge upside to have and Svensson has a little hidden form at TPC Deere Run when he played here in 2019, and remarkably finished in the top 20. I say remarkably because Svensson spent the whole year struggling with his game.
Last year Adam Svensson finished 24th in the John Deere Classic and so now, with a PGA win under his belt and in top form, he has a good prospect among our top bets on our best U.S. betting sites.

Recent Winners
Main Betting Contenders
Russell Henley (+1600)
Russell Henley was the runner-up at TPC Deere Run in 2019, and in recent months has been playing some career months. A 4th place finish at the Masters has been the highlight of 2023, in which the thirty-four-year-old from Georgia has been a model of consistency.
Ludvig Aberg (+2000)
The young Swede is making waves on the PGA Tour and with it, his betting price is contracting with the splash he is making. Respected on an easy week.
Adam Hadwin (+2200)
The Canadian, Adam Hadwin must be feeling a little left out this year on the PGA Tour with compatriots Nick Taylor, Adam Svensson, Corey Conners, and Mackenzie Hughes all winning events. Hadwin has twice been in the top 10 here and looked in good nick last week when losing in a sudden-death playoff at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Emiliano Grillo (+3300)
The mercurial Argentinian won the Charles Schwab Challenge a few weeks ago and looks in superb form. Obviously, suited by the TPC Deere Run as Grillo was runner-up in last year’s event on course debut.
Adam Schenk (+3300)
With two top-6 finishes in the last five years at the John Deere Classic, Adam Schenk must be seriously considered. The thirty-one-year-old from Indiana has jumped a level in recent times, looking more accomplished with runner-up finishes at the Valspar Championship and Charles Schwab Challenge. Adam Schenk has a solid look this week after another strong effort in Detroit last week.
Michael Kim (+8000)
Michael Kim was the runaway 2018 champion, with a record winning score of 27-under par. The twenty-nine-year-old went into a dreadful slump in form that he only snapped last season when gaining his playing privileges back through consistent performances on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Sam Ryder (+10000)
At times in 2023, Sam Ryder has shown his best form ever on the PGA Tour with a brave effort in defeat at the start of the year at the Farmers Insurance Open when finishing 4th.
He followed up a couple of months later at the Texas Open with a 3rd place and the thirty-three-year-old from Florida was away fast on the “B” of the bang last week when shooting 7-under par at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Sleepers
Zach Johnson (+8000)
Two-time major champion Zach Johnson merits a mention here where he has won once and been in the top 4 on seven occasions.
Ryan Moore (+15000)
The 2016 winner, Ryan Moore must be a sleeper this week given there have been hints of promise in recent form plus his standout result of recent seasons was a runner-up finish at Deere Run TPC in 2021.
