By contrast, New England Revolution (6-7-6) dropped down from 7th to 9th in the standings after coming out on the wrong side of a six-goal thriller at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. The Revs showcased both their firepower and porous defense in that loss (Revs have a -1 goal differential through 19 games).

These are legitimate playoff contenders, though the hosts strike the more convincing pose right now. Hence, it’s not surprising to see the hosts odds-on to win at Subaru Park as per the top-rated sportsbooks.

The Chicago Fire (5-5-10), meanwhile, snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over Toronto FC and moved up from 14th to 12th in the Eastern Conference standings. They’ll be looking to build some kind of momentum as a result.
Betting Pick and Prediction
Very little separates these two sides in terms of recent form; both are 2-0-3 in their last five fixtures. Another similarity this season is that both have flattered to deceive. As such, this is a bit of a toss-up for soccer picks.

The soccer betting market for this Western Conference showdown stands in stark contrast to the reality on the ground.
The Los Angeles Galaxy (8-3-8) ranks 8th in the standings with 27 points. They’re merely three points adrift of third-placed Nashville SC (8-6-6). Colorado Rapids (5-6-1) are merely one point from last place.
Granted Galaxy is riding a two-game losing streak after an unfortunate 2-2 loss to city rivals Los Angeles FC and a careless 3-2 loss to San Jose Earthquakes a few days later. So, perhaps, bookies may well be reacting to this disappointing drop in form.

On the flip side, this matchup is a great chance for the visitors to bounce back at the expense of a lesser opponent. Surely, they won’t let it slip through their fingers.

New York Red Bulls vs. New York City FC

The New York Red Bulls (9-6-5) and New York City (10-5-4) are neck-and-neck in the Eastern Conference standings, two points apart in 3rd and 2nd place, respectively.
Recent form is very good too in both camps. The Red Bulls are undefeated in their last three while New York City is undefeated in four straight games.
All things being considered, this should be a tough contest between two sides that have a legitimate stake in the race to first place in the East. Thus, not surprisingly, both sides are in plus money in straight-up soccer betting markets.

The market implication is clear: it’s anybody’s game to win. Having said that it’s not often a team of New York City’s quality is trading between +215 and +220 to win outright and that might be too tempting to ignore.
