UFC Vegas 48: Johnny Walker vs. Jamahal Hill Lock on the Card

Table of Contents

Well last weekend was certainly something…

We’re back to the UFC Apex for another UFC Fight Night card to fill the hump of this Content Camel (patent pending).

We got one hell of an interesting main event for the return to the Baby Cage as Jamahal Hill takes on the most endearing crazy man in a sport full of actual lunatics, Johnny Walker.

Johnny Walker vs. Jamahal Hill

UFC Light Heavyweight Main Event Bout

Saturday, February 19, 2022 – 10:00 PM EST at UFC Apex Center

Betting Preview

Despite loving Walker’s “Eddy from Tekken if he we’re on a ton of mushrooms” style, the Octagon, whether full-sized or baby-sized, has not been kind to the Brazilian the last few years, going 1-3 in his last four with Thiago Santos beating him on points back in October in the said baby cage.

For a fighter with as much potential and buzz as Walker (who gained three performance of the night bonuses in his first three UFC fights) to come down to earth this fast against higher-level competition gives you a metric-ton of pause to whether or not you’ll put any money on him, especially in the main event of an anemic fight night card against someone like Hill.

While Hill got dropped by Paul Craig when they fought in mid-2021, Hill has gone 2-1, 1 NC in his last four fights, winning his last fight by knocking out Jimmy Crute in the first round back in December.

And that one no-decision was initially a TKO of Kidson Abreu but was reversed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission because Hill, much like many Americans, especially those who need to treat chronic pain from being professionally beaten about the face, tested positive for Marijuana.

Life’s a joke, but moving on.

Betting Analysis

Unofficially Hill has dropped three of his last four opponents and for Walker, who plays “F*** around and find out” every time he steps into the Octagon, and half of his losses have come by knockout, with the biggest knockout coming from Corey Anderson in 2019... THIS IS NOT GOING TO END WELL FOR WALKER.

Sure, Craig dropped Hill in Hill’s only loss, but Paul Craig is death with fists, while Walker can drop you, and he has dropped all but three of his opponents, I’m not so certain he can set himself at the level of a Hill right now.
