There’s been a lot of movement in the NBA standings recently, especially in the East. The Boston Celtics are currently in the first place and continue to rout really good teams.

Meanwhile, we continue to wait on the Brooklyn Nets as they continue to struggle with a near full team. The playoffs are coming up and some teams are about to miss the boat. Which teams should we fade coming into tonight’s games?  Let’s see what the NBA odds for these matchups tell us!

Denver Nuggets vs. Charlotte Hornets

Monday, March 28, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Spectrum Center

The Charlotte Hornets have been on a tear recently, winning seven of their last 10 games. Those 10 games have helped put the Hornets in 8th place but will likely still have to play in the play-in portion of the tournament.

The Hornets just spoiled Kyrie Irving’s Brooklyn debut this season and really found ways to keep Irving out of rhythm. Still, the Hornets aren’t that great on defense and with a back-to-back game to play, the defense could lack against the Nuggets.

Denver is scoring 114 points per 100 possessions while the Nuggets are also shooting a 55.6% effective field goal percentage. On the other hand, Charlotte is allowing teams to score 113 points per 100 possessions and giving up a 54.4% effective field goal percentage.

The Nuggets might run into a surplus of turnovers on the defensive end, but overall, offensive rebounds might be a bit easier against the Hornets too. On the other hand, the Hornets are scoring 114.1 points per 100 possessions while also shooting a 54.1% effective field goal percentage.

They turn the ball over 12.9% of the time but likely won’t be able to win a whole lot of offensive rebounds against the Nuggets. Still, if the Hornets can keep turnovers down, attempts will be there.

Therefore, for our NBA picks, let’s take the over here.

Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks

Monday, March 28, 2022 –  07:30 PM EDT at Madison Square Garden

As the season comes to a close, the Knicks won’t be seeing the playoffs while the Bulls will. However, the Bulls are in collapse mode, losing three of their last five games. In every loss, the Bulls have been absolutely washed out by double-digits.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are onto something, winning three straight games, all on the road, over the Hornets, Heat, and Pistons.

The young core of the Knicks is starting to shape up. The Knicks have been terrific on the defensive glass, holding teams to 25% offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, New York won’t earn a whole lot of turnovers but will hold teams to 111.1 points per 100 possessions and a 52.3% effective field goal percentage.

On the other hand, the Knicks have done a very good job at getting to the foul line this season and should be able to get a large chunk of points at the foul line in this game.

The Knicks aren’t taking the best shots but the Bulls also don’t defend all that well, to begin with, allowing teams to score 113.2 points per 100 possessions and an effective field goal percentage of 53.8%.

The Bulls have been a fun team and have a cool, balanced roster. But this team is falling apart at the worst time while the Knicks have nothing to lose and are just having fun.
