Fares Ziam vs. Michal Figlak
UFC Paris Lightweight Bout
Saturday, September 3, 2022 – 12:00 PM EDT at Accor Arena
Michal “Mad Dog” Figlak
- Pro MMA Record: (8-0-0) (4 KOs, 0 submissions, 4 decisions)
Michael Bisping, Conor McGregor, and Gegard Mousasi are some of MMA’s most notable fighters.
Now, following in the footsteps of these European-based fighters that came before him and displayed their skills in the Cage Warriors promotion, Michal Figlak will look to make a statement in his UFC debut this weekend in Paris.
Winning Machine
The Polish-born mixed martial artist has destroyed the opposition since beginning his professional career in 2018, and it isn’t easy to envision this stopping anytime soon.
He’ll now answer the question that’s been on everyone’s mind, can his authoritative skillset translate versus the elite-level talent on the UFC roster?

Figlack in the United Kingdom
While training under Paul Sutherland's tutelage at the Trojan Free Fighters gym in the UK, Figlak has competed in more than 20 bouts throughout his amateur and pro MMA tenure.
He’s notably lost just two of those contests, one of which came against current UFC prospect Jack Shore.
Figlak will meet a lanky, dangerous kickboxer in Farez Ziam, who notably will be fighting in his home country of France. It’ll be an actual test for the Pole, but from the skills, he’s displayed thus far, there’s a great chance of success for the former Cage Warriors to stand out.
Michal Figlak: Fighting Analysis
Figlak doesn’t hold back in his fighting approach, and his overall fighting style should quickly earn the respect of UFC fans worldwide. He’ll march down his opponents with a relentless striking output behind an impressive technical boxing output.
With an exceptional level of cardio and heavy pressure, fast hands and keenness for power-strong body shots have often left the opposition wincing. He doesn’t just load up and go crazy.
Still, he undoubtedly lives up to the nickname “Mad Dog”, carefully selected faints that disguise his oncoming attacks making him extremely difficult to read.
Despite failing to secure a victory via submission, Figlak owns a significant level of offensive grappling. I have no doubt the Pole can secure submission positions, but he tends to prefer striking, whether that’s standing or on the ground.
Ziam vs. Figlak: Betting Pick and Odds
Fares Ziam (12-4-0) will return to his place of birth when competing in France this Saturday afternoon. As a tall, rangy kickboxer, the Frenchman naturally enjoys a striking battle.
However, he will need to avoid Figlak working on the inside; Ziam works best from the outside and aims to chip away at his opponent from a distance with his speedy combinations and long limbs.
Top-rated sportsbooks have positioned Figlak as the betting favorite. Although it’s risky to place wagers on debuting fighters, the Polish native has seemed to have a solid mentality during his pro career.
Reasons to Back Michal Figlak
I don’t believe the bright lights will affect Figlak, and he’ll simply be too aggressive and technically sound for Ziam to handle.
Figlak is a complete martial artist and will have backup options outside his boxing output, such as clinch positions and a heavy top game with notable ground and pound.
For this reason, and because of his vicious mentality, Figlak is the prospect you want on your betting slip for UFC Paris.
