It’s that time of year when everyone gets sick. Whether it’s COVID, the flu, or an injury, there are plenty of players not playing in Week 15. It’s hard to keep track at this point and by the time I write this article, there might be more players missing games due to protocol. So do your research and don’t make your NFL picks until right before the game, if you can.

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday, December 19, 2021 – 01:00 PM EST at TIAA Bank Field

I’m not the only one excited about Urban Meyer’s departure. However, the line for this game went from -3 to -5.5 once Meyer was dismissed from the Jaguars. That’s a little much.

The Jaguars simply don’t have the talent to compete right now. The roster needs to improve and the team needs to simply get better. It’s not going to happen overnight, no matter who is coaching.

We also can’t discredit Urban Meyer’s resume. At the end of the day, he’s a winner. But he struggled to win with the Jaguars. The things he did and said were terrible and he should be out. But we can’t just move the line up multiple points because Meyer’s gone.

The Jaguars average 13.8 points per game while allowing 26.2 points per game. While the Texans haven’t been any better, Houston seems content with Davis Mills under center for the rest of the year.

Naming Mills the starter for the rest of the season should help the team stay calm and connected throughout the rest of the season.

These are two really bad teams facing each other. Neither team deserves to be a favorite over a field goal. Let’s just be honest here. Even with the Jaguars at home, I’ll take the Texans at +5.5 in this game.

It’s silly at this point that top-rated sportsbooks are shifting the lineup for the Jaguars. Not a single player has changed and at the end of the day, players play.

Tennessee Titans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunday, December 19, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at Heinz Field

It wasn’t too long ago when we were all sitting on your sofas watching the Steelers play the Vikings. The Steelers looked absolutely pathetic to start the game and fell down by multiple touchdowns early against the Vikings. The Steelers came out flat and looked like they wanted no business in the game against the Vikings.

Then in the fourth quarter, the Steelers woke up and nearly tied the game on a last-second touchdown attempt. It failed and that was that. Either way, if the Steelers let that happen against the Titans, the Steelers will not have a chance to get back in this game.

The Titans are 9-4 on the year. Have we forgotten? This team continues to play at a high level, despite losing key players to injuries.

Plus, the Steelers’ defense has been one of the worst Pittsburgh defenses in recent memory. I’ve never seen a Steelers defense look so bad under Mike Tomlin.

So it’s a lost year. The Steelers are 1-1-3 in their last five and the tie was against the Detroit Lions.

Grab the Titans -110 at the NFL odds, even though you could’ve got them at a much better price earlier.
