The Eastern Conference playoff series between the Heat and 76ers shifts to Philadelphia on Friday, and the Western Conference series between the Suns and Mavericks head to Dallas. Here are two-player prop picks on each with NBA odds from BetOnline, one of BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks

Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Friday, May 06, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Wells Fargo Center

Bam Adebayo and Tobias Harris

  • Bam Adebayo Over/Under 27.5 Points + Rebounds
  • Tobias Harris Over/Under 19.5 Points

We went 1-for-2 on our player prop picks for Heat-Sixers Game 2 in Miami, with the home team rolling to a 119-103 victory and a 2-0 series lead. The win was on over/under 19.5 points for Tobias Harris, with the thinking being that Harris would have to score plenty again with Joel Embiid still out.

That was a winner as Harris was 9-for-17 for 21 points. He probably would have had a few more points if the game wasn’t a blowout.

The loss was on Miami’s Bam Adebayo at -145 for a double-double. He finished with 23 points and nine rebounds – I counted at least twice where he went up for a rebound in the second half and it got tipped away or he deferred to another player. So frustrating!

As of this writing, Embiid has been ruled out for Game 3 as well, but ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that: “there’s still progress that could be made to change his availability vs. Heat on Friday.”

Remember, Suns star Devin Booker was originally ruled out last round in Game 6 vs. New Orleans with an injury but ended up playing. It wouldn’t shock me if Embiid does, too, but we’ll have to assume for these purposes he will not.

Bam Adebayo's Performance

Thus, I have to go back to an Adebayo prop, but we won’t lock in the double-double and limit ourselves. In Adebayo’s one regular-season meeting this year vs. Embiid, Adebayo scored just four points on 2-for-6 shooting against the stellar defender.

In this series, Adebayo has 22 points on 9-for-10 shooting vs. DeAndre Jordan, 12 points on 2-for-5 shooting vs. Paul Reed, and two points on 1-for-1 shooting vs. Paul Millsap. The Sixers don’t have a guy to check him.

Let’s stick with Harris set again at 19.5 points – too low. He’s averaging 24.0 points and 17.5 shot attempts in the two games so far.

At worst he’s the No. 2 option with Embiid out and some nights will be the No. 1 when Tyrese Maxey isn’t going nuts like Maxey did in Game 2 and Harris still got his 21.

Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks

Friday, May 06, 2022 – 09:30 PM EDT at American Airlines Center

Jalen Brunson and Jae Crowder

  • Jalen Brunson Over/Under 18.5 Points
  • Jae Crowder Over/Under 1.5 Three-Pointers Made

We hit 2-for-2 on our props in this Game 2 matchup, a 129-109 Suns victory. We leaned over 8.5 points on Dallas guard Reggie Bullock, and he finished with 16. Never a worry. We also leaned over 1.5 three-pointers made for Phoenix’s Jae Crowder, and he was 3-for-5.

In this series, Mavs star Luka Doncic has totaled 80 points, 17 rebounds, and 15 assists. Teammates Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dwight Powell, and Dorian Finney-Smith have combined for 66 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists. That’s why Dallas is down 2-0 and hasn’t come close to winning.

“We got to get other guys shooting the ball better,” coach Jason Kidd said of getting Luka some help. “We can’t win with just him out there scoring 30 a night, not at this time of year. And we’re playing the best team in the league. We got to get other guys going. We got to get JB and Spencer a rhythm and get them good shots for Game 3.”

Jalen Brunson Playoffs Stats

Brunson has to step up as the No. 2 and a return to Dallas might be just what he needs. After averaging 27.8 points in the first-round series vs. Utah, the free-agent-to-be has averaged 11.0 points on 32.1 percent shooting in the first two contests vs. Phoenix. Brunson scored at least 24 points in each home game vs. the Jazz.

“I ended up easing into Game 1 in the (Utah) series,” he said. “I just go back to the drawing board and think about what I did and adjust. We’ve been able to bounce back more times than not after a loss. We know what we have to do.”

Let’s just go right back with Crowder – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The oddsmakers only changed the price slightly from Game 2 at -113 to now -122.

He has made at least three three-pointers in six straight games. Crowder ranks No. 3 on the team in three-point attempts behind Devin Booker and Cam Johnson during the regular season and the playoffs.
