I would have some sympathy for YW if they listed it in their rules, or were even vague in their rules. I would have some sympathy if only did it for people they threw out for betting mistake lines, horse scams, bonus abuse, fake referrals, that type of stuff. But their posted policy on bitcoin withdrawals is free. When they only charge people whose crime is winning, that does not sound A+ to most people.

To be fair to them it is listed in their rules somewhere. I complained to them when they charged a fee on my bitcoin withdrawl and they pointed me to a place in their terms where it says bitcoin withdrawls are free for recreational players only.

Rules or not, it's still a shit policy which has no place in this industry.

"If you win too much, we're going to activate our backup plan to skim money from you. And you won't know that you're being charged a fee until it's too late and you need to get your money out."

Saying bitcoin withdrawals are only free for recreational players implies that they're willing to overlook the costs associated with handling such transactions. But that's not what they're doing here. They aren't charging a nominal flat fee to cover costs. They're charging 2.5% of whatever the amount is. That's ridiculous. Handling a $1 bitcoin transaction costs about as much as a $10,000 one.

When they selectively require selfies, bank statements, power bills, charge 2.5% fees on transfers that cost pennies. They see it as a feature not a bug, In their mind if you won legitimately, you must be taught a lesson to never come back.

Can you give more details? Did the website say he was getting hit with a 2.5% fee or did he find out when he received payment and it was short? Did he ask YouWager about it? Did they acknowledge the fee, or was it one of those things like at GTBets where they say there is no fee and have no idea what you're talking about?

I remember hearing that CRIS recently started charging non-recreational accounts withdrawal fees. I wonder if that's what is going on here.
He found out when he was cashing out. Since Crypto was the only withdrawal method available to him, it was a large amount of money, nd the charge was mandatory he said he figured it was better to get his money out first.

Making an excuse of saying a player is non recreational and then charging 2.5% is just stealing.

In the same sense they could have said the player is non recreational and charged 99.9% as withdrawal fee.

The problem is all action taken against the player is without the player option to leave with his funds. I don't have a problem if they let the player make a complete withdrawal and say moving forward we are going to do XYZ, but before you allow someone to make a complete withdrawal, that is flat out stealing.

There's also the problem that it's not something which is communicated up front, and you have no choice once they tell you that they're instituting a surprise tax for winning. It's extremely shady.
